You may recall that a couple of weeks ago I asked if my frustrating initial experience with the Leupold Custom Shop was representative of other's who had been down the same road. Well, yesterday morning I received notification that a UPS package was enroute. Today, 3 weeks and 3 days after I placed my order, my 6x42 with German #4 arrived. The reticle is exactly what the Product Specialists had promised (and what I was wanting, NOT what is depicted on Leupold's site) and from initial inspection the scope is perfect. Great eye relief and it fits (barely) in my Talley rings/bases on my Cooper Jackson Hunter (in 270 WIN :o). Testing this weekend. Regarding Leupold: While I received my scope two weeks earlier than speculated by the Product Specialists and earlier than stated by Leupold on their Custom site, there is a serious lack of information flow between the people you speak with on the phone and production. Not the Prod Specs fault, as they are doing the best they can with limited knowledge. I must give a shout out to the numerous Prod Specs with whom I spoke who GUARANTEED ME that the German #4 reticle would perfectly meet my needs despite how it is represented on their web site. It does! The proof will be in the shooting/hunting, so give me some time and I'll let you know.
Did they give you the subtenions of the reticle at 100 yards?
The saga continues, as I'll now get to experience that "world-class" Leupold customer service. Was mounting my scope today and realized the left horizontal crosshair had broken. Leupold sent me a return UPS label and said they will try to have the scope back to me by the end of next week. Stay tuned....
I would try a Meopta 6x42 German #4
I GOT mine from Meopta directly and it
is going on my Lipseys Ruger 77 RSI 30-06
and the reticle is etched on the lens!
No Wire reticle to break.
