I bought the 3x9 when it was the rage here, the ocular became loose, and one could peer through the scope at a target and move the reticle relative to a 100 yard bullseye by wiggling the ocular up and down sent it back and they said it was an O ring problem that was common in that model, they fixed it, I sold it for $150.00.00
Just for the record, that scope -- the 3-9 you refer to -- is not part of the ZA5 models the original poster was asking about. Minox did acknowledge a problem like you describe with their early offerings here in the states but quickly rectified it. I had one of those, and they sent me a new replacement. Some of their higher-end glass is quite impressive.
