$30 rebate (Visa pre-paid card) available on Weaver stuff over $80 purchased this month and I think next.

Been wanting to try a K6, maybe on my .22. After the rebate and a $5 email signup bonus from Opticsplanet, my cost comes to $115, give or take a nickel.

The Weaver 6X is a solid scope. The only downside is the tube length and mounting options. If it will work with your action buy it!

Thanks for the heads up. I just purchased a K6 on the 2nd of this month to put on my 6.5 Creedmoor.

Is the Classic 2-10x38 a decent scope?
Posted By: Pappy348 Re: Weaver Rebate - 10/10/17
I have no idea. The last Weaver I bought was an El Paso steel-tube K2.5. That one was mounted on, in no particular order, a 7x57, a .22, an 870 slug gun, and was last seen on a Ruger 77/44 I traded about 2000. Prior to that I sent it in to Parsons to have the retaining ring on the objective replaced, service no longer being available on the old American-made ones.

The current K models seem to be well-regarded, within their limitations as to limited eye-relief and tube length; light weight and reliable set-and-forget scopes.

Check the reviews on Opticsplanet.

Most opinions around here put it way behind the 3-9 due to eyebox, tunnel vision, and a host of other stuff.

I've been hosting one for a friend, and killed a young hog with it at a whopping 32.9 paces, so it "worked". The friend is no hunting/shooting slouch, by any stretch, and he likes it just fine. I'd not buy one for myself, however.

Thanks FC. The only 3-9 I see is a Kaspa.

They stopped making the V9

They do have the 40/44 in 3-9x

The Japanese Weavers, K4s and K6s are very good but as others have said, are limited in versatility by their short eye relief and tube mounting length. I still have several K4s on various rifles.

Here's the thing that bothers me about them. The warranty is only good to the original owner and he must have the sales receipt. You also have to send in a money order for $15 for return shipping. I doubt if I could find a sales receipt for any of my scopes. At least Leupold sends the scope back, no charge.

For $115, it's not much of a risk. I seldom sell scopes with rifles as it's usually pretty much a giveaway proposition, so that's not an issue either.

I concur with this, i was given one years ago and the tunnel vision was terrible. However the V3 and V16's are wonderful in their price range.

I went with a K-6 for a first Weaver whirl. FYI, Optics Planet has a 10% off coupon code on their website that's good today only.

Pappy348,

I had to send back a Weaver Grand Slam 3-12x42 back which would not track to the right properly. Weaver gave me a return authorization number and I actually had to mail it to Bushnell's Lab. In about two weeks they called and said it was a manufacturing defect and would send me a new scope. They did not have the same reticle that I wanted so they sent me a 3-12x50 instead. It only cost me my initial shipping to them, they paid the shipping to send me the new scope. I thought they handled my problem in a fair manner.

That's funny because the only place I've seen any reference to the Bushnell link is on Amazon, where in the description for the K6 they say, "Another fine Bushnell product", or some such. A two-week turn-around from Bushnell is a big improvement over the service I got some years ago with one of their crappy red dots.

Not (knock on wood) expecting any trouble. After testing my SS at sunset today, the K6 may end up on my Ruger .308 in spare rings, for the hunting season at least.
