I was considering a new vx5 scope but I’m concerned about the bolt handle on my rifle clearing the scope. Could someone who owns one of these measure the diameter of the eyepiece for me. Leupold lists them at 1.80” but I’m not sure how accurate that is, so I was hoping someone who owned one would be willing to check it out.
Thanks

I measure my VX5 2-10X42 ocular at 1.755" and the objective at 2.015". Mine is mounted on a LR 98 Mauser in Talley medium ringmounts and there is plenty of clearance for the bolt and the barrel. So much so that I wonder if low ringmounts might work.
I have the 3-15X50 and my eye piece measures 44.57mm. The Objective is 58.42mm.
The ocular housing on all VX-5 and VX-6 HD's are universally the same. Hope this helps.
My VX5 2-10x42 measures as CKW reported. It wears Talley QD stainless low rings on Talley stainless bases. They sit on my "Stainless Classic" .338 Winny. and works ok, even with gloves.

I am a "palmer", my bolt knob is "palmed" and I run it that way, been doing it forever. I have seen some grab the bolt with thumb and first two fingers, not for me.
