Looking for suggestions for a tripod to set on a shooting table to mount a 15-30X50 scope. What I've found so far has been unimpressive.

Thanks!

I use a Manfrotto 3346 Clamp and a 410 Geared Head. You could use any head. I picked them up on EBay cheap.

We have a great compact tripod that will hold this and much more, weight wise. The Promaster TTS522. It normally comes with a 1 year no fault warranty but forum members get extended to lifetime. Great for macro photography, spotting scopes, binoculars, our new ProMaster TS522 Table Top Tripod has metal construction, a reversible center column, and extra heavy duty rubberized feet made for tabletop shooting. The high-end tooling, ball head with degree markers and convenient bubble level will make this tripod a favorite .

+ Sets up quickly
+ So small it fits in your pack
Here are the specs:
Maximum Working height 18 1/8''/46cm
- Minimum Working Height 5 5/16''/13.5cm
- Folded Height 9 1/2''/24cm
- Maximum Load 11lbs/5kg
- Carrying Weight 1.65lbs/.75kg

Normally this is $99.99. Members here can call in and get it for $74.99. Extra plates are also available if you have multiple items you need to mount.
