I'm looking to outfit two 10 year olds with binos for their first deer hunt in AZ. Both are big kids so I don't think a 42mm size objective is out of line, but an 8x32 class would probably be ideal. What's your recommendation under $200?
6x30 Yosemite’s.

Echo. smile

One thing to note on the Yosemite; a lot of folks buy the 8x30 Yosemite thinking if the 6x is good, the 8x will be more of the same goodness - it is not.

If 8x32 is a must, the Theron Wapiti LT (if they're in stock).

It would be our pleasure to work with you on this. The 8x30's mentioned are great. We have many 8x42, and 10x42's which would be excellent as well.

Our Labor Day sale runs thru tomorrow as we are closed today so please give me a call tomorrow and we can discuss what would be best for you.
Enjoy the holiday today

And again. The kids usually find 6x's much easier to hold steady.

Youth? Kids?
This 79yr old usually carry them because they are great for where I hunt.
Another vote for the 6X30 Yosemites. I've given them as gifts and use a pair myself for the truck.

In addition to being great optically and probably the best for fitting young people's faces, if you're careful with sales, you can usually find them for between $70 and $80, easing the impact on your budget and giving you some cushion for when, in a couple of years, they start developing opinions about what they really want in optics and asking you to provide it.

Kowa YF 6x30 or Leupold Yosemite 6x30.

Kowa YF is what the original Yosemite was. Leupold moved the Yosemite to a different OEM a few years ago and I think the original Yosemite was a little more consistent.

Either way, the differences are fairly minor.

Pretty good reviews across the board on those too.

Been procrastinating too long for a less expensive set of eyes, & pulled the trigger yesterday when they were $161.89 shipped.

Echo here as well! The 6X Yosemite's is good enough I "borrow" them from the boys often.
