What is Hawkes top of the line hunting scope? Where is it made and what mainstream line would it compare to?
A lot of variables in that so sorry if this seems a bit general, top of the line for Hawke would be their Frontier but this may be more western based long range hunting FFP, ect.
Endurance WA is going to be the better all around hunting scope. Compares to Leupold, Bushnell, Vortex etc. Most scopes assembled in China with parts from all over.
Looks like they have a 4x with good eye relief and enough tube to actually mount it.
Their Vantage 4x32 happens to be a very nice scope and at under $100.00 a great buy

Six inches of mounting space. Two thumbs up!
2 things that interest me are the Vantage 1" 3x9 IR, a little over 15 ounces and the Spot on 4 1x25 Red dot sight. RJ
Hawke has some great scopes
Last November I picked up a Hawke Vantage 3-9x40 (#14120) for a very good price. I compared the glass to some 3-9x40 scopes I have on hand. The scopes were a Leupold American Marksman, a Redfield Revolution, and a Sig Whiskey3. The glass was bested only slightly by the Leupold and Redfield and was as good as or slightly better than the Sig. This was a non-scientific test, just me looking out across the yard and empty field south of my house. I observed trees and other objects from 50 to +/-750 yards, comparing clarity and color.
The Hawke scope seems well constructed. The power ring is very smooth with enough resistance to stay where you put it but not too stiff to distract when you use it. The fast focus eye piece is the same way with a smooth but rubberized rim that accommodates a flip up cap with no muss. I personally like lock ring eye pieces but if I have to have a fast focus I prefer the way Hawke has done it. The objective bell is smooth and sized nice for flip up cap use. Turret caps have a lot of threads and are nicely constructed from, I assume, aluminum. Adjustment clicks are positive but not stiff. They are quiet but still audible and easily felt when turning.
I mounted it on an AR-15 last week and sighted it in at the range. Adjustments move as they should on the target and sighting in was uneventful. As long as it holds zero I don't see me replacing it any time soon as it checks off all the boxes I need for the application I have it in.
I gave $54 for it at the time and felt it was a bargain. Now that I've had it in hand and have it on a rifle I feel at $100 it is a bargain. For the price point it targets it's definitely worth a look.

I have a couple of these. Great scopes for $70!
I've got a Hawke Endurance 30 1.5-6x44 on a 450 Bushmaster. It's plenty bright in the woods and the IR is kinda nice. I've also got a Vantage and Airmax 3-9x40 AO's on two RWS air rifles that have held up well thus far. That Vantage scope seems like a real deal for the money. Nice clear lenses...but I'm just shooting squirrels out of the bird feeder with them.

I hope Hawke discontinues all the Endurance 30 wide angle scopes! wink

Took me a minute to catch your drift, but me too, although I'm pretty partial to the LER models with 4.5" of ER. The E30s "only" have 4".
No matter now that the limitations of the warranty have been pointed out. Won't buy another.

Non-transferable warranties are a deal breaker for me. Why the hell would it matter who the hell owns a scope for a company to stand behind their product? F' Hawke.
I’d be very interested in the Frontier SF 4-20x44 if it holds zero, tracks and returns to zero when magnum recoil is introduced....

You realize that pretty much ALL rifescopes fail at a given rate? Cost of the warranty is calculated into the price. I just read the warranty information on their website out of curiosity, so...if you buy it new and it breaks in your lifetime, it's covered. So they don't cover products purchased on the used market, big deal.

Now I don't own any Hawke products, but I sure can't see any problem with that warranty if I was in the market for them. Some guys would cry if you hung 'em with a new rope.

You'll have no issues and if you bought it from us and it did not " hold zero, track and return to zero when magnum recoil is introduced" I'd take it back from you. That's how confident I am in their products.

Specifically with your receipt, otherwise you'd be SOL per Hawke. Fugg' em.

They need a copy of your receipt when originally registering the product. That can be a pain but it certainly is better then having to keep a receipt for a long time.
Well, I did not get the memo until today. LOL

I will get a hold of their CS tomorrow because I bought one of their spotters back in April for range work. I believe I registered it back then but if not and they screw with me I won't buy another one of their products as well.
I got a hold of their customer service this morning, they do in fact require you to keep the original receipt. I asked the guy why this policy was in place, it was to check to see that you are the original owner. I won't buy another thing from them ever.
If anyone here ever has an issue with a Hawke, or any other brand we handle, always feel free to reach out to us and we will assist

Well, that does suck.

I have no idea who they spoke with, however, according to the Nat'l from Hawke a receipt is not needed or asked for
Doug, I spoke to a man in customer service this morning. I do not remember his name but I asked him if I had registered the spotting scope I had purchased in April. He informed me that a receipt would be needed in order to have the spotter serviced if it needed it in the future and he would look up my information. He took my contact information and as of right now has not called me back. I called at 9:30 AM EST
A very few that would be interesting if they came with a duplex, normal BDC or #4 reticle instead of 1/2 mil dot or some other tacticool reticle. Way too many 50mm and 50mm+ objectives and AO objectives to suit me. </=44mm is as big a I want to go. This is all my personal preferences though. I'm obviously not their target market.
Still have not heard from Hawke regarding my warranty information. They have customer disservice in my book.
I have spoken with the USA VP of Sales at Hawke. Please feel free to call me if you ever have an issue with getting any Hawke product serviced.

Too bad they could not have said something like, "we are very sorry, here's your RA number. We'll fix you up ASAP" instead of giving you some bullchit about a piece of paper. Guess they have better chit to do then stand behind their product...
I must be missing something. Why would he say "we are very sorry, here's your RA number. We'll fix you up ASAP" if the only thing asked was "I asked him if I had registered the spotting scope I had purchased in April."
Oh, he never told them his spotter was bad, just not warranted... My bad.
Just to clarify, I thought I had registered this spotting scope when I bought it in April. I did not remember anything about a receipt(after reading these posts) so I called their Customer service to see if in fact I had registered it. I have not heard back from them yet concerning this.

I am thrilled you don't have a defect! All my Hawke stuff is pretty sweet for the money. So far.

It's possible that the CS rep at Hawke misunderstood. Give them a call and speak with Jess and i am sure he can clear it up or if you prefer just call me and I'll make sure it's taken care of and registered correctly.
If you buy one of these pieces of junk make sure you keep your receipt or no warranty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have one, can't find my receipt to send it in.

Thanks Doug, I will take care of that tomorrow
Registered spotter with Hawke this AM, no issues. Thanks to all that brought this registration to light.

Jess is great. He took care of my issues in great fashion. I actually got an upgrade out of the deal.
Glad to assist (that's one of the things I'm here for) and happy Hawke cleared it all up

Sorry for my mis-understanding of your situation. Great to hear they took care of you...
No Harm No Foul, I would have had an unregistered spotter that was not exactly cheap not covered by a warranty if not for these posts.
How do you like the spotter oldelk

Love it, money well spent. Scope is easy to get behind , very clear and has excellent glass. It is not an Alpha spotter but no need for just range work at max of 300 yards. Replaces a Bausch and Lomb 60mm scope which was useless at 200 yards.

They sell for much less then the MSRP

I'm looking for something to scout with, nothing like western guys do but things like turkeys, waterfowl, deer.

And range work.

Perfect spotter without breaking the bank ...has a very nice cover on it as well from the factory
They're good about including accessories with the scopes. All mine have come with two batteries, a cloth, and covers. The 8x56 had flip-up aluminum covers that would cost serious money if you bought them later, a tool to install them, and IIRC a shade too. That's a very nice scope, but pretty dang big and heavy for field carry. I really like the illuminated dot with crosswires below.
The 2.5-10 and 4-16 Endurance 30s are awesome too. I'd put them up against VX-3s optically, but they seem stouter built.
Doug when do you expect to have the 2019 hawk riflescopes in inventory?

I've been looking hard at the 4x12x50 Rimfire .22 subsonic scope and still giving it some thought. Wish they made it in a 40mm objective but I guess I could live with the 50 if the price is right. I've been hearing the drop markings are pretty accurate on the reticle so this would be a great scope for sage rat hunting and squirrels.... Need to call Doug I guess to see what kind of deal they have on them now....

Bob
Bob,
It's a cold snowy day here so I'm at my desk. Give me a call smile
Doug,
Tried to call but apparently you were tied up on another call- hopefully selling some hardware... wink I'll try again in the next couple days as my wife says my toy account is on hold for a bit..... wink

Bob
Neil's out today and Jeff was in the classroom teaching a photo class so it was me, Joel and Scottie manning the phones.
I'm here till 6 today, give me a jingle
