What's the little thing sticking out of the bottom of the turret housing at about 5:00 in the picture?

It looks like a "Burris posi-lock heritage" bias spring housing.

Agreed, that's what it looks like. Is that what it is though?

Wow that looks like a near perfect coyote calling scope. Plenty of FOV on the bottom end for close in work and enough X's to reach out as far as needed with a 223 or 22-250. Plus it won't break the bank.

Wish I could see what the turrets look like. Since the tracking is dead on.....

Anybody have any first hand experience with steiner scopes?

I've been looking at that scope for awhile, a glass comparison would be great.

This was my first thought also.

If I remember right, some of the Steiner line is made along side Burris scopes, not in Germany with their better quality optics.

While reading about this particular model on Steiner’s website, I noticed it is Made in the USA.

I bought one a couple years ago before Doug had them I agree with him that they are close to Swaro in glass quality. They do have that CAT coating that makes certain colors pop more. I have look at deer with it and like it.

The thing that drew me to the scope initially is because I use a scope like this more at 2X than at 10X and this scope looks particular good at 2X. There is absolutely no tunnel vision black doughnut and they eye box is excellent on 2X. It has the qualities I like for jump shooting a deer.

Looks pretty nice, but I won a pretty good (so far) 2-10 a while back fom some optics dealer🤔, so I'm all full up for now. Maybe later.

Yes they do.... I found that out when I sent in an older pair of Burris binos to be repaired and was sent a brand new pair of Steiner binos.

Looks very much like the three Burris Signature Selects that I have. Those are great glass, discontinued and/or integrated into the Steiner line perhaps, although the SS were 1” tubes. I recall there were Four X and Black Diamond scopes with a 30mm tube? Happy Trails

Doug, or anyone, can you comment on the internals? A robust scope?

It is a very robust scope. if you get it and are not totally thrilled we will take it back

Ive compared them SXS against a HD5 and a Z3 and to me the GS3 was superb. The GS3 is easier to get behind and easier to get a full field of view at all angle. Not sure if this matters but the GS3 is a 30mm tube with a 56mm objective and the others are 1” tubes with 50mm objectives.

I would’ve bought one of these from Doug by now if I didn’t already have a Conquest DL, a Leica ER5 and a Burris all NIB sitting in the safe.

I got you beat, I have several in the safe . My brother is always looking for a scope when he comes over, or I sell a few to my buddies.
That Steiner sounds great at that price .

My problem is having extra scopes makes me start rifle shopping. Then I end up broke! 😂
