Anyone use thermal imagers? Any thoughts?
I'm thinking of one of the Leupolds. I'm not sure what I will do with it (maybe help with tracking downed game; see whats running around when its still to dark to see?), but just think it would be cool to have/use.
Thanks.

Hello there. I know nothing about the Leupold thermal imagers but from the reviews I've read, the ratings are mixed. I have a Pulsar Helion and it is very good for detection (not necessarily for identification). The only reason I bought this was because wild hogs are starting to invade my hunting area and we can hunt them at night. However, it is interesting to see the woods come alive after dark, even if you can't hunt anything. I have only once used it for downed game but was not successful. The deer I had shot ran some distance in a heavily wooded area and I ended up having to use a tracking dog. It might work better the next time.

The bottom line is that I have not regretted my purchase and look forward to using it again (hopefully to hunt hogs).Good luck.
