Thinking about adding a 6.5 Grendel upper to the mix.
It'll be used for punching paper out to 300 yards, hunting deer, pigs and groundhogs out to the same ranges and ringing steel out to 600 yards.
What would you buy?

FFP or SFP?

What's the closest shot?

Exposed or capped turrets?

Give a call tomorrow, 516-217-1000, so we can discuss what would be best and you can take advantage of our Columbus Day Weekend Sale

I have a Vx3 with Boone & Crockett (ballistic) reticle in 3.5-10 x40 I could recommend. For 600 yds you might consider a 4.5-14x50

Your question is pretty wide open one so expect a dozen pages of arguments in response. Even so I can't think many would say my recommendation isn't a proper one.

It just depends on if you plan on twisting dials as Doug eludes to.
Doug,
Closest shot might be 30 yards.
Elevation can be exposed.
Thinking possibly another Zeiss V4 4-16x44 like I got from you earlier this year, but open to options.

I have a Bushnell LRHSi 4.5-18 on my Larue 6.5 Grendel, but am considering moving to something smaller and lower power. Maybe the Burris 1-8x24mm XTR II.

The Bushnell LRTS which is on sale for $699.99 would be a good option.

I think we have a couple of open box ones for only $669.99, give a call tomorrow

I have a Weaver Grand Slam Tactical 3-10x40 with mil/mil reticle and turrets on my 6.5 Grendel and like it. Unfortunately they're no longer available - it's a pretty decent scope.

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on one of Whittaker's 6.5G Howas. If so, I've got a 6x SWFA waiting. The groundhogs at 300 may be a little tricky, but that would be the only downfall...

^^^^ That is likely your best option right now. Get the illuminated version.

The Bushnell in link looks like a great deal and would fit nicely for purpose and distance. I have a Howa 6.5 G Youth model. It’s a handy little rifle. The magazine design leaves a lot to be desired but otherwise it’s great. Put a Burris Fullfied illuminated 3-9X40 on it after reading about them here. The combo makes for a great lightweight truck gun. Wonder if the Leupold VXR Patrol is an option?
Anyone who calls in today, and mentions 24HourCampfire, can get an open box Bushnell LRTS 3-12x44 FDE G3 or Black G3 Illuminated for $669.99 or the Bushnell DMR2 3.5-21x50 in H59, G3 or G3 Illuminated for only $999.99

We are in till 6 Eastern time
bushnell 4500 4x16x40 on mine.

SWFA SS 3-15x42mm SFP on my Howa 1500 Mini HB 6.5 Grendel. 20 MOA Warne Pic Rail Base, Ken Farrell 30mm 0.835" Standard Rings.....
Received an e-mail from an on line retailer showing a Burris Veracity 2-10x42 on sale for $449.99 plus free shipping, reviews look positive.
Anyone here with first hand experience with any of the Burris Veracity line of scopes?
Looks like it may be a good fit for my new upper in 6.5 Grendel.
