Would love to see Meopta offer one of these in their Meopro line:
#1 - a 2-7x36mm (similar in dimensions to the Kahles 2-7x36), 1" tube, #4 reticle
#2 - a 6x36mm (similar in dimensions to the Leupold 6x36), 1" tube, #4 reticle
A 8x32 Optika binocular and a range finding binocular
A remake of the old Zeiss Conquest 2.5-8x32 and the 4x32 would be nice.
A 8x32 Optika binocular and a range finding binocular
Really surprised they do not have a range finding bino
Hello Oldelkhunter,
Meopta has a Range Finding Binocular. The MeoRange 10x42. And very good one!
I don't think it's available in the United
States yet
I would double down on the 6x36, but I would want mine with a simple hold over reticle like the Burris BP
A remake of the old Zeiss Conquest 2.5-8x32 and the 4x32 would be nice.
With a low-profile elevation turret, zero-stop, capped windage, and 2MOA hashes on the horizontal wire.

I'd be on that like stink on a monkey.
#1 - a 2-7x36mm (similar in dimensions to the Kahles 2-7x36), 1" tube, #4 reticle
I,d buy 3 right now if they kept the weight under 12 oz. I waited for ever for the Leica that was promised a few years back and they never made it available in the US.

Same here.
Ditto, make the tube long enough to use on Long actions without NASA approved mounting system.

With the #4 as an option
And lighten up the 10x42 Meostar a bit. Get into that 26-28oz range
A 6x42 with a long range duplex out to 500 yds

Same here. That's the scope that is missing from their lineup. And the most useful of power range.
Lighten up that 1.5-6x42 Meostar. Dang thing feels like I bolted a section of railroad tack to the top of my lightweight 7mag.
It looks like there are enough votes for a 2-7 to move ahead. Make it happen, Doug!

Several manufacturers have tried to introduce quality lightweight scopes I'm the 2-7x32, 1.5-8x32, etc range and they have all been commercial failures.
People do not buy them, plain and simple.

Problem is, in order to make this happen minimum order is 200-250 scopes. I have learned that everyone says they want something and then when it is made it is the wrong:
Reticle
tube length
price
etc
It is impossible to make everyone happy, however, at SHOT this year I will discuss a 2-7x36 or 2-7x40 with a few mfg's and see if I can get something moving
I would love to have a meopta 2-7x36, fixed 6 or 4 with: weight around 12 oz, good eye relief, enough room for mounting on a std long action, and a #4 reticle. The weight of their offerings has been a no go for me
Doug
What about rangefinding binoculars?

They're available in Europe. Patent issue stopping sale here in the US
Meopta is making a bino/lrf unit for Leupold, under the L brand.

X100!
Or better yet, just take the Meopro line and offer CDS-like dials. Keep it under 16 oz and they will sell!
A reliable dial option at comparable weight to the VX3 line would fly off shelves!

That is the perfect hunting scope, yet not in production. Can’t figure it out for the life of me. Has the shooting public become that disillusioned?

The shooting public is now apparently just fine with 20-30 oz bricks on top of their guns. I don’t get it either!

I was waiting in that same boat with ya – it's a shame Leica backed out on that one.
I'm just happy Doug was able to get me that Artemis 4x32 last year. What a great little optic.

Tactical Tom and Long Range Larry currently rule the rifle world. I don’t see it changing any time soon.
Don't forget Creedmoor Craig.
👍
As a group they are good people.
However, those who believe they need 14XXXX to sight in at 100 or to shoot Deer out to 300 are the main reason the optics manufacturers give us the options they do. The sniper mentality runs strong.

I doubt this guy is carrying your idea of the perfect hunting scope....Get with it, or miss out on the celebration....

Nothing wrong with a pre-pay before the order is finalized so you aren't left holding the bag on a bunch of special order scopes.
I know the last special order was a headache for you. After the manufacturer fixed the issue with the scope I can say it's my favorite scope and gets used more than any other I own. Thanks for doing that one.
Tactical is a big market these days, but there are a lot of active hunters and shooters who want normal set and forget, light weight scopes with good eye relief. Traditionally this has been Leupold’s niche but they have lost a lot of trust in the last five years.
It’s safe to say the first reputable manufacturer to realize this market exists and that a Leupold isn’t trusted like they once were stands to make some money.
I’d certainly commit to a pre-order for such a scope.
Is the weight of the 3-9x42 Meopro really so objectionable? That model has very good eye relief, and it fits the set and forget niche.

The 3-9x40 Meopta has even better eye relief and is a little lighter.

Yes. 15.9 oz is more weight than I want for a non-twisting scope. I dislike huge, heavy scopes. In the last 10 years 2-7x36s have replaced 3-9x40s for me. A straight 4 or 6, or 1-5ish variable is sometimes even better. But I don't shoot things in the dark or at 700 yards either. If I was into that my preferences would surely be different.

I don’t even find the basic 3-9 x 40 listed on meoptas website anymore, although some retailers appear to have them. Are they still making them?

If 16 ounces is too much, then you will be shooting scopes that don’t hold zero with even light use.

The 3X9X40 is the first scope listed on their website under the Meopro line.
Thanks. By navigating through their site I found it. For some reason the link I was viewing didn’t have it.

Yes and no. My current set and forget leupolds consisting of a couple 2-7s, a 6x and a couple 1-4s and a 4x have been okay but I've seen issues with friends' scopes and experienced enough problems with others I've owned that I'm not keen to buy more. I'm keeping an eye out for better options, hence my Meopta wish.
AK I bet the first time you went to Meopta.com which I don't think is the US site.
BETTER RETICLES!!!! The scopes are great but the reticle choices are horrible. This isn't Europe. Not everything needs to be 56mm and I would like to see more FFP. Loose the plex and mil dot on tactical scopes. That's 1990's technology.
