Recently sent in a gloss scope. I filled out their online form for returning scopes.
I told them they could replace at will, but they chose to completely rebuilt my old $75 "campfire special" Gloss Vari X 11 3-9x40......
They put new lenses in it too, on their own accord. Not written on the spec/repair sheet, but definitely has new lenses.....not just cleaned. Much higher quality image now, VX Freedom lenses I'm sure.(I have several freedoms, looks like the same image to me now).

This is what I ended up with after 2 weeks of them having mine..............

ZERO CHARGE.........spent $8 to ship it there.

According to their repair form, they replaced the elevation twice......haha. Maybe this one will actually track. Follow up down the road once I get it mounted up and shot again.
May be a while, I got an elk hunt coming up and I may not have too much time to test it. But, within a month I'll have a follow up on the "tracking" and function of this scope. And, no I'm not using this on my elk hunt. eek

I sent in a Lupy a few months ago and I suspect they installed new lenses as well. I am completely satisfied with the outcome.

I sent in my 1982 varixlll 1.5 x 5 x 20 2 weeks ago. I got an email saying it will take 18 working days to service it.

You never know what you'll get back...I sent in an older M8 3X that was somewhat finish-challenged (I wanted a heavy duplex reticle installed) and got back a brand-new 3X from the custom shop (this was a couple of years back, before the huge price increase on reticle changes). Total price, $60.00 plus shipping.

That’s their standard response. You’ll probably get it sooner

I have one remaining Leupold, IF you don't turn the knobs, and the scope is on a light recoiling rifle they seem to stay zeroed year after year.

Older friction adjust models seem to stay zeroed year after year no matter what rifle of mine they are on from 22 to 45-70.
Seems they "fixed it" for now.............

50 Yards.........12 MOA dialed, as perfect as I've ever seen a Leupy be. If I was putting it on a rifle intended for more than just plinking, I'd send it down the road. However, having only paid $75 for it and it being rebuilt including new lenses for free from Leupy, I'll keep it. It's just on my plinking rifle anyhow.......Ruger 77/22 Mag with custom Green Mountain stainless fluted barrel. Fun gun for my young boys to shoot.

I cranked the knob 30 MOA up and down, firing 50 rounds this afternoon. Returned to zero every time. We will shoot the heck out of it and see how it holds up.

I'm happy with Leupolds service in this case, and the lenses they put in it are much better than Vari-X II.

The last repaired Vari X II 3x9 had windage and elevation adjustments replaced. I've had several scopes replaced. The only one I regretted was an old 3x that Bubba had cross threaded the eyepiece. It was replaced with a new FX 4x scope. That was the first scope company elected to exchange. Those old 3x Leupold's are a prize. I don't buy into the current hate attack on Leupold. Two of the scopes they replaced were in my possession for forty years or so.

I have a 3X. Need to research it- thinking I might replace it for the 2.5 X10 now on the .338WM, if it will stand the recoil. Don't shoot hardly any moose past 100 yards anyway.... smile

Could put it on the 10-22 also. Grouse be in trouble!
