I have a new Weatherby Vanguard compact 7mm08. I’m looking for recommendations on scopes with decent eye relief in the $200 to $300 range. I usually hunt food plots and pine plantations in South Alabama

Camaraland has the Meopta 1.5-6x40mm on special for $299. and the Burris 4x 1.5-6x42mm w/Ill. dot for $259. I put the Burris on one of my coyote rifles and just love it.

There are a number of good scopes out there for you. Burris makes a very good scope. I wish they had Leupold eye relief. Natchez has some good deals going now. You best chance to kill a good deer will be before sunrise and after sunset. Get one that worls well in low light.

Just out of curiosity, why did you go with a compact rifle?

I've been wanting to try one of these. I hunt mostly in thick woods, should be good for that.

If the 6x42 is the darling of the Fire and is recommended for just about everything a 1.5-6x40/42mm should be nothing but better. 1.5x for close in and fast acquisition and 6x for just about as far as you want to shoot, 300 yards on a coyote is a chip shot off of sticks.

SWFA

Super Sniper FIXED 10x or 12x

Tough scopes. 30mm tube.

Night Force like tracking and repeatability.

Form was right. Thank you sir.

I have switched over to these scopes entirely for all my rifles. They have replaced all 3 of my Leupolds.

SS 12X on a .223 with 75 ELD'S and a 1x8 twist Shilen.......makes 2 liter cokes at 400 yards disappear.

Pigs HATE this rifle!!!
