I'm looking for a strong/quality Weaver/picatinny style scope base under $50.00 mounted on a Savage 16 rifle in 300 WSM.
Any help appreciated.

Im really liking Leupold Dual Dovetail if you stray from weaver/pic style.

Otherwise I agree Warne is top quality.

Warne is a good thought. I was also thinking Burris extreme tactical. DD leupold rings and bases work well but I wanted the rail.

Warne or EGW Bases

Just used Warne 2pc PIC on a SAV Mdl 110 SA build.
Wanted top loading access so the 2pc made sense.
Used Leapers UTG Rings really like the set up.

I ended up going with a one piece Leupold picatinny rail from Midway USA.
I just bought from the classified section here a 3.5x10x40 VX3 should work well on the 300 WSM Savage.

It should be good, I use Talley bases and Split rings on my Savage volt guns. You will like the short mag, less recoil than a 300 Win mag. I load 150 Barnes for mine.

EGW if you want full length, it works fine, Burris Extreme Tac ,2 piece steel works well too and gives you a bit more room between the scope and action.
