I've got one of the cast iron ones without the handle. It has a ledge that I use vise grips on. Anyway, I recently noticed that the "N"is not reversed in the mold so the "N" is backwards on the cast ingot. Anybody else have one like this?
You made me look! My N's are normal.
Rare collectors version. Bidding starts at 10,000 dollars. LoL
My "old" ingot mold without the handle and my new one with the handle both have a normal N. Damn!
I imagine there are thousands of them out there like this.
I have several molds of both types. I think it was a Lyman OOPS moment.
Why? Because we get to pour "defective" ingots?
Will the bullets cast from the defective "N" ingot spin backwards?
I use a muffin pan, will mine cast with a higher BC? The ingots have a very wide metplat! memtb
Funny, I have a couple of those ingot molds and couldn't tell you if the N is correct or not. Might have to check one of these days.
One of mine is like that. It was purchased back in the late 60's.
Ha ha. I was talking to a buddy in Ohio this weekend and somehow the topic of backward N's came up. He reminded me we had the same discussion about that 20+ years ago. My how time flies when you're blessed with Old Fart's Syndrome...
There is nothing new under the sun.
