Meat hog, taken with my FA .454 Casull.
Headed to TX in March with multiple weapons, including 2 Ruger .480's, to shoot multiple hogs.

Yesterday evening's little boar (73 pounds). He's destined for the crockpot. M1909 7x57 175-gr. Interlock over IMR4350. It works.

WOW That's incredible Buzz, a .300 Win Mag did that? Did you shoot from a tree stand on a downward angle? I shoot Nosler Trophy Grade ABLR's in 180 gr with my .300 Win Mag, never saw a hole that big!

I swear I wish we had Pigs up here in Canada, your guys hunting pictures look like so much fun!

Do all wild boars taste bad? The only time I had some was in Key West at a friend's place, he had killed it in the glades, it stank up the condo when we cooked it, and the meat was super tough and far from good!

Happy Pig hunting boyzs, from an envious Canadian lol

Part of that depends on how you cook it. Another, much bigger part depends on what they've been eating, which could be anything. A hog in the Everglades could eat fish, snakes, rank vegetation, all manner of carrion--there's no telling.

I killed one in south Texas a few months ago that's far better than domestic pork.

^ ^ ^ ^ yeah-this ^ ^ ^ ^
You should go to your knees and thank God
Almighty that you are free of the plague of
the feral hog

They're fun and sporty and all that until you
have to start fixing the damage to your property
and spending money you don't have extra to
spend on re-doing plantings and filling and
leveling deep holes in pastures and hay meadows
and hope you don't drop a tractor wheel in
an unseen hole and turn bottom side up or
break an axle or hub or ruin an expensive
wheel and tire and tube, etc.

Enjoy going elsewhere to pop em while you
can before they invade your area

I needed a new drug.......

Found it....... Perforating Hoglets at night with thermal...

[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]

View from my 20' eye-height open air quad-pod. Absolutely perfect night. No breeze, +'- 65 degrees. Twenty miles from the nearest light source, so no light pollution. Boucoup stars and an incredible view of the Milky Way.

+/- 90 yds.

It is a game changer.

Sig Cross, 308 Win, 150 Gr. Norma Soft Points. Dead Air Nomad-30 suppressor.

First Boar came in about 8:30 PM.

As you can observe, they seem to think they are the top of the food chain.

It may seem inhumane to watch, but he is DRT, just don't know it yet. Sever the spine and they drop and paddle. If they go halfway around I put another round on the underside of the throat. Usually settles their hash.

Next one sauntered in about 1.5 hours later

nailed him too......
