Well, I don't know it a Gobbler is considered Big Game. But I can tell you, it is to a 10 year old. I took my 10 year old granddaughter out on her first Turkey hunt this weekend. It was our youth hunt and she was able to take her first Gobbler. She was so excited you would have thought she just shot a 180 inch WT Buck. Everything worked out perfectly. Nice Bird was gobbling off in the distance. Hit the call and he responded. Next time I hit the call he had closed the distance by half. I told her to get ready, He's coming. We saw him coming to the decoy's fast. I told her to take the gun off safety and freeze, don't move a muscle till I tell you to shoot. Her eyes lit up like it was Christmas morning and she just saw all the presents under the tree. The Tom came in and stopped about 30yds out. He started to gobble at the decoy's. I told her to put the red dot on his neck and squeeze the trigger. She knocked him down with the first shot. He started kicking and tried to lift his head up. I told her shoot him again. She did, and he was done. She was shaking and had a smile on her face from ear to ear. She jumped up and said lets go see him. Needless to say there were hugs and high fives and one happy little girl.

Wow, congratulations to the young lady. That is a really big bird. Here in Virginia turkeys are classified as big game and the license to hunt them are purchased in combination with deer licenses in a package.

Good deal! That bird is almost as big as she is. 😁

I can remember exactly where we were my son shot his first with a 20 gauge double.
