I think we all hear of the big game hunting in Africa in various locations being fenced in. The common fence is called a 2 meter fence being about 6.5 foot tall depending upon the proximity to the ground. I have had photos in the past of Kudu jumping an 8 foot fence showing that the 2 meter fence was an irrelevent obstical. Here is another photo showing just how high/long African antelope can jump. Lechwe are not even considered spectacular jumpers by Afrcian standards.

I don't see a splash in the water from where he lifted off from. That means he must be on his way down from the far right side solid ground! That Croc likely had plenty of time to try and judge the mid air "grab" he is trying.

Pretty neat photo, JJ.
Yea I'm not a great jumper either unless I need to be!
JJ,

Could it be a fake? This came to mind when I viewed your photo: Hoax photos
I'm probably wrong, but something does not look right about that croc, the depth of the subjects looks weird. Also do crocs have 360deg vision? That croc would have to lead the lechwe and use its tail to leap like that? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

This was only one of a series of photo's taken of a group of Lechwe running across. The next photo in the series shows the trailing lechwe locking up the brakes right before he jumps,... after seeing the croc.
Anything is possible with digital photography I suppose but I think seeing what I have here that the whole series is legitimate. If you folks like I can post some of the other pictures. These came from RSA, not sure they have the same need for a thrill to screw with unsuspecting internet visitors that we would in NA? One never knows though!
