spent some quality time with my son in unit 700 hunting antelope and shooting birds

my sons first big game animal 7x57 mauser shooting 150 ballistic tips,

needles to say after a 1 mile stalk and a quarter mile belly crawl across frozen ground, he was shooting 255 yards,,

from the looks of the end of his barrel wobbling like crazy, shooting prone on a bipod, we were having breathing exercises,,, what a rush,,,

any way after a few rounds down range he finally gets serious and learns to pic a spot where the heart is,,,and one buck down

i could see the bullet trace going over the antelopes back every shot,, we were down wind and the low sun at our back,,,

antelope had no clue we were around, good thing,,
any way hes hooked for sure, ready for a youth cow hunt at fort peck on the 17th and youth deer season starting the 18th , got couple pretty good bucks were watching,,,

Funny story - when I was a youngster I flung a lot of lead at antelope. Another few years and he'll get it figured out. Great story.
