ND's licensing prices are due to increase soon. Was thinking of writing my state congress critters in support of such a thing. What does your state do?
Texas

Lifetime Resident Combination Hunting and Fishing: $1,800
Lifetime Resident Hunting: $1,000
Lifetime Resident Fishing: $1,000
Upgrade to a Combination Hunting and Fishing: $800
NC Lifetime Sportsman license. Hunting, fishing, big game tags, Game land permit, trout stamp, everything except saltwater fishing and Federal Duck stamp. $500 for resident I bought mine way back when they were $300.
Indiana used to and still recognizes those that bought them, but they no longer offer them.
Alabama and Georgia do. I should have purchased one for Indiana before I left....
Wyo. does but only for fish, small game and birds..

That's what I was thinking would be the norm - anything that doesn't require a lottery or a Federal stamp....
I bought an Idaho lifetime hunting and fishing license after graduating from the U of I...can't remember the price but it was well worth it. Mainly because I can put in for draws there every year without buying a new license first, plus I bird hunt there every year. I have to pay non-resident prices for big game tags, but I never have to buy a license there again, and that's well over $100 a yearly pop for non-residents.
Missouri till your 65 then its free
Mn, Ny, and Wv that I know of. Ny is lifetime even if you move out of state.
I believe PA does or did offer lifetime license.
Tennessee has a lifetime Sportsman's License which is good for all big or small game hunting in the state, including the national forest and WMA's
For the past 10 years, I have had a lifetime Idaho hunting license. Sorry to say I have never used it. CP.
In Idaho, if you buy it while quite young it can be worth it, particularly if you move out of state but come back to hunt. For many of us long time residents, though, it's too expensive, especially since we can get a Sr license at 65 that's much cheaper.
Oklahoma Hunting/Fishing $775

Includes: deer tags, fur bearers license, turkey tags...

Also if you move out of state you retain your hunting privileges.

I'm about to move to TX and plan on getting one there also.
Turn 60 (62?) in Alaska, you get one for $5.

I forget the qualifying age, as I are one/got one.... now if I can just remember where I put it... smile
California does:

Colorado is too greedy to have it. Although I do get a free fishing license as a senior.
Georgia does it. I paid $500 for mine about 8 years ago. It has since paid for it self. If you by before 16 they are $300 (I think) I bought my son one for his 16th birhday.

Yep, and I got one.
Bought it back when they were $525....didn't take long and they went to $800 something or other then on to I think something like $1600??
Haven't bought a tag for 12 yrs or better...best hunting investment I ever made...besides my guns.
MS does as well.
$1000 for over 12 years old
$500 for under 12

I just bought one for me and both of my young sons since we just moved from MS. I should have bought mine years ago.
I have one for Texas and one for Kansas.
Tennessee has a lifetime fishing/Hunting license for seniors at a one time nominal cost. To hunt alterless deer there is a yearly permit required at a cost of $28.
Alaska offers a permanent license to residents at 60.

I think PA's is only for senior citizens. Which doesn't make too much sense because they don't have too much "life" left anyway.
Nebraska has.

In Connecticut once you hit 65 they issue with out any fee. But my guess that will change with all the junk they passed. So you are 65 a resident hunting lic is 26 dollars, so the State waves that, but you now as of Oct 1, 2013 an Ammo Permit and the starting fee is 35 dollars. Its going to be interesting to see how this all plays out.
I have MS, TN, GA, and VA. With VA it is basically a small game license. I still have to buy a large game license, primitive weapons license, bow license. Those add up some but not having to buy a nonresident license has saved me some money over the years.

Tom,
Same here. Got mine for $525 in 98. It was my birthday and 5 yr anniversary present from my wife.
My father bought my son his lifetime hunting and fishing license here in VT for his first birthday. It cost only $145.00. That includes deer and bear tags. If purchased before the first birthday it is 5X the current rate. After that it goes to 25X. At 65 a lifetime license is free.

$145 for life can NOT be beat.

Louisiana lifetime hunting and fishing is still $500.00, 60 years or older is $50.00. That's all hunting and fishing, you still have to buy the Federal Duck stamp. My wife and I have had lifetime licenses for a number of years.
Good shooting!
Marcus.

I believe Utah is the same way. I don't believe they are offered anymore, but they had them when I was younger.
In Florida a lifetime sportsmans liscense in $1000. A lifetime hunting is $500, and fishing is $300 each for fresh and salt water. I bought the lifetime hunting years ago, wish I could have afforded the thousand dollars then. Bought both my kids lifetime sportsmans liscenses for $400 each when they were about 4 months old. I was told that the state gets money from the Feds for every liscensed hunter. If they sell you a lifetime liscense, they are guarenteed that $ from when you buy untill you die.

Also a separate one for the conservation stamp.
I got all these 12 years ago and I think it's going to be a good decision.
I bought mine here in Yankee Country in Sept. 2002............

Big game, small game & fishing $500
Muzzle loader $125
Archery $125

$750 and this year will be my 12 year. My ROI is looking bright.......
South Carolina has a life-time too.
Sisters and parents bought my Kansas hunting for college graduation in 1998, I think it was $350 then. I moved to Missouri the next week. Deer tags for me are over the counter, $30 some odd bucks, rather thanb $75 hunting license and $250 lottery deer tag.

My grandson was a year old yesterday and I'll get his for him soon, just like I did for his 25 year old dad when he was a wee lad.
It's one of the coolest things you can do for your youngsters, I believe.
NH has one on a sliding scale based on your age. Covers deer and bear tags. Have mine for archery and muzzleloader (deer only for both of those) as well.

Do you not have to have passed Hunter's Safety to get a Lifetime in MS?

That's one lucky granson!
I dont have one, but I bought a lifetime sportsman license for my daughter (fishing and small game).

For my sons, I bought the sportsmans and deer licenses. I believe the cutoff is 4 years old in MN, then the price jumps.
Ark. has 2 kinds of Lifetime Hunting licenses.

65+ Lifetime Hunting License $25.00 - entitles RESIDENTS 65 or older all hunting privileges, small & big game, with all annual bag limits. Even so, the holder of this LHL must get a trapper's permit, HIP registration (free) for 'migratory' birds. Fed waterfowl stamps are also required. For additional $10 a Lifetime Fishing License. (A lifetime 'waterfowl' permit is $7.00)

ANY AGE LIFETIME RESIDENT HUNTING and FISHING LICENSE - $1000.00

There is NO lifetime NON RESIDENT license!

QUALIFIER --- During the year you turn 65 you can purchase the lifetime RESIDENT license.

e.g. I don't turn 65 till Dec, 2015 BUT I can purchase the L R H L in July of 2015

Maine offers a lifetime hunting license for $150 for residents and $200 for non-residents if purchased between the ages of 0 and 5. It is $300 (and $900 for non-residents) if purchased between the ages of 6 and 15.
The $200 for non-residents under 5 is a killer deal. Probably pay for itself in one trip!
I thought WA did, but it seems it's only by drawing...for which you buy an application for $6. I can't find where it says you can buy one, so I emailed the game dept and asked them and haven't heard back from them yet.

So, I just re-checked my emails and they've answered back. They say they do not offer any kind of lifetime license...
