I have never paid an access fee so don't know the first thing about them. How do I find landowners who are willing to offer one? Is there an online way to locate these landowners before applying for a license? Face to face doesn't work real well when you are 8-10 hours away. Thanks.
The local WGFD used to supply a landowner list but I'm not sure they do that anymore. Best bet would be to try and call the one in the area you are looking at and ask if they have one, and also see if you can chat with the local bio. They can sometimes help out. The guy out of the Buffalo office - Dan Thiele has always been great and has been more than helpful.
Good luck, its getting tougher ever year to find good access.

The suggestion to call WGFD in the area you are looking at is a good one, they can be helpful. Areas like the mentioned Buffalo Office are really locked up with very little land that is accessible without at a minimum paying a trespass fee. The WGFD know they need to help non-res hunters out as the fees help pay there salary. Being local I have never had to pay fee but if you are interested in the Baffalo/Sheridan area send me a PM and I can give you a contact that is a good guy, if he is locked up for the coming year he can refer you to a straight shooter as well.
Between the federal lands and those enrolled into the state's Private Land Public Wildlife program I do not ever see me paying for access for pronghorn hunting. A bit of cross checking between those I listed and the drawing odds report will open all kinds of doors for free.
