Wanted to post this picture of my first PA Black Bear, got her this past November 2016 and finally got some time to post a picture.
Shot her with my old 1960 Marlin 336 SC .32 Special..... ammo was plain jane Remington 170 gr. factory ammo. bullet entered the base of the left side of her neck and exited her right shoulder, she dropped on the spot and never moved.
Only took me 48 years of hunting to get "one".........
It was my lucky day,I was the only person hunting on the entire ridge and she just walked right towards me.
305 lbs. field dressed.
Nice bear, great old rifle! What county were you hunting I grew up in Carbon County hunted Susquehanna, spent time outdoors there alot!

Did you get your rug back yet?
getting a full shoulder mount done won't have it back till August, couldn't afford a rug, getting the skull done also cause her head was so big.
Awesome! I once traded you a Remington 760 carbine for a Marlin 336A that was made in the 50's, did I not?
Very cool congratulations!
Mike
I'm envious. I want to shoot one badly, just have to make it happen. Love your choice of rifle too!
Congratulations on the bear.

A really nice bear. Congrats on that 'punkin head'.
I'm headed up to Wyoming's Big Horn Mtns May 15th to hopefully tag a color phase one, 7 day horseback hunt. Then out to Washington's Olympic Peninsula August 1st for, hopefully, another black, blackie, spot and stalk.

Good going buddy, she is beautiful.
Fine bear, I've never seen one except in a zoo. I bet it's exciting.
Congrats on a great bear!
Great looking bear, what did she score?
In the pic she looks old.
Very nice bear sir. As a fellow Pa bear hunter for near 50 years, I know how long it can go without even a chance of getting a shot.
To me, getting a Pa bear is about as exciting as hunting gets. especially in Pa.
The first one is the hardest.
Good shot on a real nice bear...that is a big sow!!! I used to hunt Jack's Mountain on the other side of Mt. Union. Cant remember the name of that valley.
Nice bear. Did you enjoy the drag? or were you lucky enough to shoot it between the wheel ruts?
