Got this sow yesterday. One round into the neck at the base of the skull out of my 7mag dropped it, was dead before it hit the ground.
Well done man! Well done!
Congrats.
Impossible, everyone knows a 7 mag isn't enough
Congratulations.
Good job. Nice size bear. Now the work starts.
The animal I have dreamed of killing for 50 years now. I envy those of you who get hunt this majestic animal!
I have to wait 4 years before I can take another bear in this area. This is the first bear I have ever taken. Should square out to 7ft, the biologist will have fun trying to measure what is left of the skull. Oops
Congratulations!
Nice bear. Out of curiosity, what was the range to the bear, and which bullet were you using?
Regards, Guy

Nice trophy...man those suckers are huge !!
Congratulations Hank! Well now I can take that off of my "bucket list"... as you got my bear I've dreamed of since around 1966 or so!

Very cool. Thanks for the info re range & bullet. The good ol' 7mm is very capable and it sure seems you made a great shot!

I hit it exactly where I was aiming. She was quartering away. No exit and I never found a single piece of bullet. The brain was complete mush. The back half of the skull is mostly gone, but I didn't really want to track it into the timber
Are you going to make a rug ? Nice bear. I killed a 7' interior grizzly this past June off the Denali Hiway between Cantell & Paxton.

I'm just going to get it tanned but not rugged out. I spent a few years in Paxson, love that country. Sure has changed though.
We stayed at the Alpine Creek Lodge. You are correct, beautiful country.
CONGRATS Man ! ! !
Sweet!

Congratulations, big bear, and good shooting too! Looking at the paw you holding, thinking of the damage of those claws raking a mans head, wow.
Good job, Hank! It sure is nice not having to track them!
Way to narrow it down!
LOL
Is that you in the pic?
I figured you to look more like your avatar!
I haven't been remote that long, yet. Haha!
Thats cool Congrats. Nice to see plain jane soft point still works these days.
Nice shootin! That bear looks huge.
That's a bruiser for SE. Never used it but carried a 7RM while a fishing guide near Norton Sound and I am glad to see the bullet didn't bounce off the bear. Congrats on a fine animal.
Nice catch Hank. You did well.
Any other pics? Curious on the color. I want my next bear to be a SE brown bear. Have boat, will travel...haha
Looks like a big one.
Congratulations!
Thanks for sharing the pic.

Good job. Pictures?
It got dark prwtty fast so I don't have any other pics. My buddy might have gotten a few though, I will ask him. I will snap a couple of the hide next weekend after I get it back from F&G. It's a pretty dark bear.
Sheesh man no ground shrinkage on that thing eh? What a Bear! Nice work!
