Got my normal unlimited mule deer tag behind Mom's house again. Nothing special but I'll take it.

Your successful and unsuccessful stuff should be there.

No luck for me. Struck out on the 380 elk tag and the 300 mule deer tag. Next time...

Most likely my 6.5-284 as #1.......backup is usually in question till the last minute, but probably the lighter 6.5x47.

Years ago we used to Hunt that area for "BIG" Mule Deer on the "general license".
One of my partners killed a Boone & Crockett Mule Deer Buck at the north end of that district and over the years Hunting there I saw five or six "monsters" there but never brought one to bag.
Big Mulies can be very tough to tag!
Again good luck with that special tag and I hope the weather co-operates and aids your Hunt - that used to be a key factor thereabouts.

I managed the general deer/elk combo, again. I heard that particular one is oversubscribed.

The price is getting such as a non-resident I don't know how much longer I will keep doing that one.

Our group didn’t draw deer tags this year. I had hoped for my 13yo son and nephew to get a chance to hunt Montana.... maybe next year!
