I enjoy hunting Colorado. But have decided to give it up with all the additional fees, and the leftist government nonsense going on there now. I’ve spoken to a good number of people who’ve decided the same. Will certainly make for improved draw odds for those still in the game.

Ours are in. Doing things a bit differently this year.

Elk
3rd Rifle - Over The Counter bull tag
1st Choice - Preference Point
2nd Choice - 4th Season Unit 3/4/etc. cow tag

Deer -
1st Choice - Preference Point

Trying to get everyone with at least one Pref Point for both elk and deer. Some of us will have 2 each.

The 3rd Rifle bull tag with a 4th Rifle cow tag will allow us to hunt two weeks instead of one, Better chance of catching the migration. 'll probably drag the trailer up for 3rd Rifle and watch for the migration, then call the others when I see it happening. If it does. Last couple of years the migration occurred after 3rd Rifle, when we normally hunt. Not sure if it occurred in 4th Rifle or later.

I've got mine in for 77/78/771 1st rifle elk. My buddy who moved in from out of state recently and is having a hell of a time getting everything sorted out. He's down at the DOW this morning.

I've got enough points that I should start looking at my options for next year. Thinking I'd like an early season ML either sex hunt...

Sons got theirs in yesterday, mine this morning for Elk, PP for antelope, deer . Everything went smoothly

Well, he's in. He's going to have to re-take hunters ed apparently though. Right now he's on some sort of "apprentice hunter" thing so he can pull the tag. I get to give him plenty of [bleep] about that - he's older and has hunted more elk than I have

Remember the new deadline is 8:00 pm not midnight as before.

Got mine in, just for points, but excited that my daughter can get points now. Texted my BIL in CO and he said “Oh crap!” At least he has a few hours left.
