What do you all think? Shots out to 300 yards, let's look at factory and handload options. The 130 gr ttsx could work out.

Anyone have on-game experience? I'm curious how a non-lead bullet would expand in an antelope.

165-168g Barnes TTSX. We've taken numerous antelope with TTSX, starting at 100g and up, no problem.

I load the 150 TTSX in my 06’s, hammers hell out of deer, pigs, Aoudads

If you keep impact velocity at 2,000 FPS or better, any of the TTSX will kill deer and goats cleanly. The slightly higher BC of the 168 is my choice but I have had challenges making them shoot as well as 165 TSX Federal loads. Inside 400 yards, no problem with expansion. I don’t think speed goats are that hard to kill with anything placed correctly.

After reading your post I realized mine was wrong. Corrected it to read "100g and up'.

For blacktail which are about the same size, I settled on 150TTSX with the -06 or 308.

Good stuff, thanks - headed to the range this weekend to see how the 168 gr ttsx group. Planning to use them for bear, deer, and elk this year. Always nice to use one bullet for multiple applications.

For about a year or so, I've been experimenting with the 150 TTSX BT in a couple of .308's, three .30-06s, a .300 H&H Magnum, and a .300 Winchester Magnum. It shoots very well in all of them.

Surprisingly in the .-06s, I've gotten better accuracy with H4895 than with my long-time favorite '-06 powder, H4350.

I'd pick the 150 TTSX

A prairie dog village is a good place to practice with your hunting loads.

I'd look at that 130 TTSX.

3200+ fps should be easy which (assuming the correct zero) will make it a point and shoot combination for 300 yards and closer.

That or even the 110gr made for the 300 BO. Either would be more than enough for pronghorn.

I’d look at the 150 TTSX, GMX, or E-Tip in order to keep velocity up. If one of those doesn’t shoot well, I’d go to the 165-168 version of each.

Try the 150 and 130 TTSX, if the 130 shoots well, go with it.

I load the 130gr TTSX in my 30-06... I use IMR4350, I can't remember the load off hand... scary accurate... and fast....

I have shot more than a few antelope out to 400 yards with it... It's like they got hit with lightning...

comment added: I can't speak to bullet expansion... I have never recovered a bullet... all pass thru shots with the animal DRT.

Since the OP specifies shooting to 300, I'd also go with the 130 TTSX, as out to that range it will shoot flatter than anything heavier.

It also works fine on elk.

as posted above the Barnes 130 gr, TTSX is a great bullet,just remember what Barnes Bullets recommend a light neck crimp,Lee Reloading makes a great neck crimp at a good price too. i have noticed with regular priced brass it even helps some with accuracy off my bench too .this bullet the Barnes 130 gr. TTSX does work well on bigger bucks too. i plan on using this bullet in my inherited Winchester per 64 model 70 30-06 too this fall in honor of the gunsmith who gave me this rifle " Harold B. This thread has me thinking I might try the 130 TTSX for deer this year. If they shoot as well in my old '06 as the168 Bergers do, I will be in good shape. The deer, not so much.

Barnes doesn't exactly recommend crimping.
