well shouldnt even call them road hunters as they were driving where there wasnt a real road!
To you in the orange jeep 1000ish hours this morning Wyoming Antelope area 44 just south of Laramie.....
Id been on (on FOOT!) small band of goats this morning but stymied at 300ish yards....they had me pinned couldnt get any closer when thankfully "trail tested" crew drove right at them bumped them too me and i killed decent buck at 120yds...did you guys even see them? are you back in town right now telling everyone how hard it is to get an antelope?
there a term or terminology for "playing the roadies" like playing the wind?

I'd just about bet those "hunters" don't participate where they'd likely learn something ! !
Maybe it was Kim K and Kayne West just out for a drive on their ranch this morning....

That is one fine “goat”! Congratulations! memtb
Nice goat!!
good year for them, if i had the time think i could find a real trophy
6.5x30-30 140 BT @ 2400 fps through the ribs 1" exit ran 60-70 yds lungs jello
I would be happy with that goat.... dang it man..... you did good.
Good fortune for you, nice buck.
always means ALOT more when you work for them and hunt the "right"
Nicely done
Roadies usually send the hunt south, straight to hell, in a hurry. Glad it was different this time and worked out for you.
Nice work!

I'm headed to Wyoming Oct.9. I'd be thrilled with a goat like that.

You're welcome.

In seriousness, glad to see someone getting it done on foot with a Contender in an unusual caliber. Right up my alley. Well done!

Pretty nice buck for 44. Were they "greenies"?
Maybe the GW should hear about them. Folks like that are why some areas get closed off. If it was walk in or HMA I would report them.
Maybe they'll show up for happy hour down at The Library, I'll ask how the hunt went.
if i had gotten a look at the plates i would have called, were just on the public side of Speilberg HMA, exactly the kind of thing that will lose us those areas that access.
...or county 2 !

County 2 needs to stay over the hill I think.

Nice looking buck. Sounds like a fortunate turn for you!
Two years ago a bunch of cowboy roadies opened open on a herd of elk from a county road on some adjacent property. I had spent 90 minutes getting to my spot, made myself "comfortable" in two feet of snow and glassed the herd at 400-ish yards. They would eat, bed, meander and lay down to sleep. After 2 hours, the cowboys spotted the herd and open up at about 700 yards with volleys of shots - a few whistling over my head. That bunched up the herd and they headed up to me hiding behind two small pine trees. As they lined out at 90 yards I picked out a fat cow and sent her sliding back down the hill. About an hour later my rancher came up with a snowmobile to help me retrieve the cow. He said I had good timing - which I agreed.

He also said the local game warden had excellent timing as he watched the 8 cowboys shoot from the road. He said he still was writing citations when he drove by.............

Justly deserved. Glad they got caught in the act.
