This bull didn't quite look right....SE Montana. He might have come from the Big Horns, in Wyoming.

He was spotted a few days later about 25 air miles away.

The only place I've seen moose and pronghorns eating in the same place was in the "aspen parklands" of mid-Alberta, where the prairie transitions for about 100 miles into the northern boreal forest. Also the only place where I've consistently flushed sharptail and ruffed grouse from the aspen/willow cover.

Moose have colonized ALL of Alberta, including immediately adjacent to Montana at the Sweetgrass Hills.

When I lived in Bigfork, MT I had some moose who came to visit in the winters. Alway nice to see them in the yard.

That’s a neat picture. I’ve seen moose in some unusual places. Strangest place I ever saw one was 20 miles north of Wamsutter WY. If you’ve ever been there, you understand why that’s a weird place for one to be.

I've found them to be in the same area fairly often here in WY.
There was a cow moose and lots of mule deer within a few hundred yards of where and when I took this picture.

Pretty neat scene when I was bear hunting last spring.

I had a similar experience decades ago when I observed a Mountain Goat, a Bull Elk and a Black Bear on the same slope in a high basin in Washington state.

This gal was probably 80 miles from anywhere you’d think a moose would live...out in the wide open prairie...

I didn’t take this pic but it’s 20 minutes from town and I drive right by it daily...
