Tired of election crap and thought I should get these posted. Made it to Namibia in September after they opened up for international tourist. Flew Ethiopian Airlines out of Dulles. HuntedSeptember 22nd thru Oct 1st. Started on the Waterberg Plateau for buffalo and eland and then to Panorama, Jamy's home camp. Had a wonderful trip and got some good animals.

First day. Early in the hunt so we didn't shoot this one.

REALLY outstanding trophies!

If you flew out of Dulles was the flight direct to Windhoek?

AHR 375 H&H loaded with 300 gr A-Frames at 2570 fps. Bought here on the Fire a couple years ago. Second trip with this combo. Really like it. Have a Kahels 1-6 K16i scope. Shot Zebra and Gemsbok at a lasered 250yds and the Hartebeest at 240yds. Sable was at 200yds. All 4 dropped DRT with high shoulder hits. No tracking of wounded animals is nice.

Dulles thru Addis Ababa then to Windhoek.

I just noticed some pics didn't make it thru. Will try and add later tonight.

Thanks for the kind words.
NICE! Thanks for the update on rifle, load and ranges.

Thank you! First trip to Namibia. Had a great time. Glad I went when I did. Trip was originally supposed to be in July, but postponed due to the COVID. Thought I would have to push to next year but when Namibia opened up I had a window to get the hunt in and it worked out really well.

excellent. I have hunted w Jamy. 1st class all the way.
Good job, ND! Looks like a fantastic hunt. Excellent photos, too.

I appreciate the diversion from the election!
Awesome pics from an awesome landscape and animals. Friends of mine indugle in reminiscences about their trip to Namibia 10 years ago. Good hunting, nice people and good food. An a very pleasant climate to hunt.

Congratulations on a fine trip.

Those pics that show the thorn bush bring back memories from my trip to Namibia. Could not believe all the different types of thorns over there.

Thank you for posting.
All I see here are beautiful pictures. Wow!

Thanks for all the kind words gentlemen. Had a great trip and hope to get back and hunt with Jamy again.
Very nice!

Glad to see the rifle served you well! wink

Fosteology - Very pleased with the rifle. Shoots reload 300 gr A-Frames into nice little groups and really hammers stuff. Have had it over twice now with 2 cape buffalo and a bunch of plains game.

What an amazing trip!! Thank you so much for sharing with us. Now, is that what they call a "plains game" hunt? Gorgeous animals. Do you get to return to the states with the capes and headgear? What do you do with all that meat!?!

Could you have pulled it off with irons and a 45/70 or 348 Winchester lever gun?

I have always wanted to take a trip like that, but I doubt it'll ever materialize, monetarily anyhow. I've always considered just saying eff it and putting it on my C/C. Only live once! ...but I can't bring myself to do it. So again, thanks for sharing your trip with us!!

Great photos and sounds like a great trip. Really outstanding trophies. Not many places you can go and get that variety and quality. Your buff is really classic, but to see roan and get sable really makes this a special safari. Congrats!

J23 - This would be considered a buffalo/plains game hunt. Hunt buff first and plains game as time allows or what the bush offers up. Capes and headgear comes home, with extra fees for dip and pack and shipping and custom broker fees. Buff was at 35yds so yes irons are totally doable for buffalo. My shot was tight and scope really helped to identify an open lane. Lots of people go with iron sights. No personal experience with 45/70 or 348 Win, so will leave for someone else to opine.

Hatari - Thanks for the kind words. Previously saw you have hunted in Zambia, I think with Jan duPlessis? That is on my wish list.
Great photos and great trophies. I hunted in Namibia in 2018. Would love to go back someday
NDHunter, thank you for sharing and especially thank you for supporting their economy during this Covid crud. I’m sure they are really hurting over there with lack of foreign hunters.

We postponed our trip to September 2021, I really wish we could have kept our 2020 date, I have to imagine the economy in Namibia is really hurting from this Covid.

Question regarding bringing headgear and capes home, did it fly back with you or ship at a later date? When we go, I’m not interested in any taxidermy per se... We do want to bring the horns and hides home to tan though.
