This new Mono from Hornady sure looks good, but the few reviews I've found were mixed. Poor accuracy to bullet blow-up ( I guess that one was too brittle?) fragmenting. Any daring souls out there try them yet? Thank you.

Before I cart them across the pond for use on PG, I'm gonna knock down a couple of cow elk with them first. Just to get that warm, fuzzy feeling.

I've got a small pile of 165 gr.'s to work up a load for the .30-06.

Check the thread "New Hornady CX monos any good?" in the Ask The Gunwriters as Cascade is headed there (if not there already) with CX's in his .30-06.
Believe me... I'm having conniptions, using a new-to-me bullet, the CX, for Africa when I've been so happy with Noslers over the years...

I "think" it's going to do well. I sure hope so.

How could it not do good?
I think the "worse case" would be pencil-throughs or splatter only skin deep. Thick skin and heavy muscle, dense bones are great Tests, but can get real expensive in Africa!

Cascade- I enjoyed your video! Have a ball man!

In my experience so called pencil through is a myth. Pointed bullets that fail to expand on big game tumble and go off course.
