International travelers arriving in South Africa no longer need to provide proof of vaccination or negative COVID test results. As of June 23, 2022, the South African government has dropped all COVID-19 restrictions for travelers and citizens/residents of South Africa.

South Africa’s Minister of Health Dr. Joe Phaahla said in a statement announcing the repeal, “We have reached a turning point since the outbreak of COVID-19 in the world and in the country.” After three weeks of monitoring continuing declines in daily cases, hospitalizations, positivity rates and deaths, health officials suspended all indoor mask requirements, limitations on gatherings and proof of vaccination and PCR test results at ports of entry.

Phaahla cautioned that COVID-19 is not gone and urged continued vaccination and booster shots as part of a healthy lifestyle. South Africa joins a growing number of nations in rescinding all COVID-19 restrictions.

Interesting. My flight on United from Newark to Johannesburg was only 15 hours. Better tailwind?
Return jump is 15:50. Damn headwinds. Still better than Atlanta :-)
22.5 hours from Calgary to Johannesburg on KLM through Amsterdam.

How long to get from Oregon to ATL, plus ATL layover? What matters is total flight time, not United or Delta leg, unless you live in Atlanta or Newark…..

Our total travel time from Oregon to Johannesburg is about 28 hours including a 7.5 hour layover in Atlanta.
It's a long time, staying seated in your small spot on the aircraft.
It appears that Africa is smarter than Canada. 😂

Not every country is blessed with such an intelligent leader 😢 as Trudeau. A true believer in the UN, WEF, WHO. A person who has become drunk on the power found through the Covid lockdowns, vaccine mandates. The man is a short distance from a dictator.

Can't wait until he is voted out.

Boy, I thought people with Trump Derangement Syndrome were bad, but you’ve got them beat with your DDS…. Dollar Derangement Syndrome. You just can’t help but attack him on nearly every post you make. How about contributing something positive for a change?

You’re truly [bleep] up in the head.
I was glad to see this when first announced. It’s a ways out but I’m headed to RSA for my first overseas hunt May 4th of 2024.
About time.
