'Bout time we got some publicity in a non-hunting magazine.

Hunters have known it all along. Be Well, Rustyzipper.
Yeah but the general public is ignorant. Our local public broadcasting station airs the usual tripe about animals being endangered by hunting. They make no distinction between subsistence hunting, trophy hunting and poaching.
I noted that Tom Selleck was wearing a hat with an elephant on it a couple episodes ago in the Blue Bloods TV show. Looked up the logo and it was the http://www.greatelephantcensus.com. I recall all the crap Selleck took from the unknowing animal preservation folks when he killed an elephant on the show Under Wild Skies. He's pretty much beyond PC so I doubt his position has changed and he is certainly a friend of hunters.

That study (the first that really tried to count all the elephants) found the biggest issue contributing to an annual 8% decline in population is poaching. We all know the biggest contributors to anti-poaching are hunters but the PR campaign never seems to get around to the connection between more legal hunting and less poachers.
Glad to hear this, since I shot an elephant last week.....
