I know a couple of people that real bad cases of TDS and are convinced that everybody is the USA is going to get COVID-19 because Trump is trying to get our economy going again. They had no problem with the protesters and rioting because they had good cause. I'm not going to discuss with them because they totally brainwashed.

I would like to provide them some information about the swine flu pandemic of 2008-2009 and the response of the Obama administration to it. I was working in Fort Walton Beach then wasn't even aware of anybody getting the swine flu because there wasn't much in the news about (because Obama was president). What I do remember is that:

1) No businesses were closed.
2) Nobody had to stay home.
3) Schools stayed open.
4) Nobody had to wear face masks.
5) You could go to your Doctors office for an exam or treatment.
6) Nobody said the pandemic wouldn't end until we had a vaccine.

What I've learned since then is:

1) The swine flu that infected the USA came from Mexico. Congress wanted Obama to close the border and he refused.
2) Fauci was in charge of the NIHID back then. I don't know what Birx was doing.
3) Many MILLIONS of people died from the swine flu.

If anybody knows more about the 2008-2009 swine flu I'd appreciate you sharing that information. I don't much time to to any research today.

I believe the world total was estimated at about 400,000 deaths. Maybe 3/4 of a billion infected.

Never saw anything where millions died.

My daughter (6 at the time) came down with it. Went from fine to a 104 fever in just a few hours. Scared the hell out of us. Tamiflu and alternating Motrin and Tylenol and she was back to normal 24 hours later.

She could not go to school for two weeks.

Thankfully none of the other five people in my house at the time caught it.

I never had a chance to do a lot of research about the 2009 Swine Flu pandemic but I did find some information last Friday. For one thing the infection rates were much higher for young people age 0-14. The thing is I don't remember anything about it and I don't know anybody who does remember it because:

1) The lying news media wasn't talking about all day every day.
2) Nobody was talking about it on all the many Democrat "talk" shows.
3) They didn't criticize the President every day for the way he was responding to the pandemic.
4) Even though the kids were hit the hardest they didn't send the kids home and close the schools.
5) No businesses were closed.
6) There was no forced "social distancing".
7) Nobody was forced to wear a mask.
8) The President wasn't on TV defending himself all the time from the lying MSM.
9) I didn't know Dr. Fauci even even existed because he was never on TV.
10) No sporting events were cancelled.

I wonder what's different about this pandemic?

The only thing I remember from the swine flu was sitting in a country ass bar on $2 22oz bottle night having a damn good time with friends. We looked at the TV and people were wearing masks at a baseball game. We couldn't stop laughing at them.

I had it. 52 yrs old at the time. Started feeling bad so went to doc (A Harvard guy who loved the country life). He took one look at me and said you have it. Took a test and sent me for tamiflu, but said it won't really help much but may lessen the hit. He said you will have a fever and feel like your head is coming off for 3-4 days. It will take 10-14 days to feel just barely good enough to go to work In an office.. He was 100% correct. Never had a headache like that. Went from throwing up to passing out in that order every 10-15 minutes for 3 days. It sucked - I lived - period.

I remember. We had 3 kids dead of it in a mid-size town and over 1000 dead nationwide before Obama declared a national emergency. He was declared a hero.

Now compare to today.

I had a friend die of the Swine Flu in 2009, I think it was. Everybody went about their business like always. They warned the people that were weakened, like my friend on chemo, to be careful. She had a business and decided to keep meeting the public, and somebody carried it to her. I didn't blame Obama.
