Yep that's the one my son is on. 9K feet is what he said they were at. I didn't think that mtn. was that high.
there is snow skiing in the winter.
I remember it burning up pretty bad up there when I lived there in 2004 or so.
from what I've seen they held the paved road on top pretty well. it ran along the west side, they saved the observatory, it burned across the road for a mile or two, then they held it on the north side of the road. ski area not burned, nor summerhaven. fire buning downhill towards Oracle and San Manuel.
Fingers crossed here, and watching closely.
My elderly FIL is at his place on 15 acres in Oracle, and SIL/BIL south of there on their spread near the Biosphere.
Both on evac alert, both can see the flames glowing from where they sit.
