Not surprised, they have raped and discarded most of the potential profit.
Remington hasn't made a damn thing worth buying except the 870 and 1100 for years!!

Bought a as new SP 10 prior to the first of the year 25 inch barrel for close in Coyote work. Seems to a well made weapon, not sure how long ago it was made. Other than that, Rimington SUCKS!

The Connecticut Supreme Court last year said that while the families couldn’t sue Remington for merely selling the Bushmaster XM15-E2S rifle used in the shooting, they could proceed on allegations the company improperly marketed the weapon to civilians for use in military-style combat against perceived enemies. Remington appealed the ruling to the U.S. Supreme Court, which declined to hear the case.

What is this BS with the Supreme Court declining to hear cases? It's their job to hear them.

Switch: I have been a LONG time Remington advocate!
My first Remington Rifle came into my life 65 (sixty five!) years ago at age 8.
I own more Remington Rifles than 99.99% of all individual Americans - and reluctantly I must admit I have seen this sadness coming on for about a decade now.
It hurts.
But it is no ones fault but the bean counters and administrators over at Big Green itself.
I have seen Remington Rifles go from amazingly reliable, amazing values and very often amazingly accurate to amazingly over-priced and not so good no'mo!
Even their ammunition is way over-priced these days.
Poor decisions, poor planning and a recent turn to poor products has ruint this once great American Company (tradition).
The only good news is I have enough "quality Remingtons" to last all my progeny for well over half a century.
Shame though this latest situation.
Goodbye Big Green - I am gonna miss'ya.
Hold into the wind

I have no information but I suspect Bushmaster and DPMS were victims of the the Sandy Hook lawsuits. Sad to see Remington end up in this situation, just as it was to see Winchester go through the USRAC history and other changes/acquisitions. It is interesting and very sad to see two of the most iconic gun manufacturers in the US get bounced around like this. I'm not a business person but it seems like it todays world at least making ammunition is a license to print money. Other than legal fights/costs I don't know how you could drive a gunmaker into the ground in this day. I'm sure somebody will enlighten me.

They pass on a lot of cases that deal in non-gun issues, also.
