Good Morning Gentlemen!

Change of pace this morning. A 'Who knows the USPS best' contest is in order.

I got a pkg shipping from Jupiter, Fl to the mighty metropolis here in the far north central part of Louisiana. Pkg was picked up by USPS Monday afternoon and according to USPS tracking, the pkg will be delivered by Friday , July 3rd, at 8 pm. Pkg is being shipped by ground priority mail.

Ok, looking for date and time of delivery. Will the pkg arrive early? Will the virus have any effect on the shipping? Or, will the USPS normal efficiency be the deciding factor? Will the holiday weekend be a factor?

First prize will be a 'Atta-boy'...... all other prizes will be an 'Ol Schit'. The number of 'Ol Schits' will be determined by the number of entries.

July 3rd.

The time your mailman usually passes by your house.

If it needs to be signed for, be home.

I wouldn’t expect it on either July 3rd (Independence Day Observed) or July 4th (Independence Day) as both days are USPS Holidays in 2020.
Additionally,
USPS Coronavirus Updates:
Expected Delivery Changes
Priority Mail’s two-day and three-day service commitments will be extended to three days and four days, respectively.
My gut is Mon. July 6th or Tues. July 7th. Ymmv.

I actually had a firearm delivered 1 day early yesterday by USPS.

Never had that happen before.

July 9, at 2 PM. The parcel will be routed through Denver.

I ordered five badger shave brush knots on Ebay, coming from China, that;s where the make them. I bought March 7, not here yet. Emailed the seller, he said he shipped them, the US government is holding them.

Don't get me started on those jokers. In April I sent a sizeable check to a dealer in PA for a 16 ga. over/under, which promptly disappeared into the ether. Ended up having to pay to cancel the check, and then pay a $50 credit card fee to pay him by plastic. Then I ordered a $200 item from a private seller, which was sent with a tracking number. According to the tracking number, it was delivered on May 12th, unfortunately it was not delivered to me, and whoever got it did not bother to give it to me. Seller says, see it was delivered......still trying to work with him....but at the moment I am out the $200.

Had a package delivered two days early this week.

Have a Priority Mail package enroute with expected arrival the 3rd also. My source indicates open on the 3rd per normal Friday. It's in Billings now.

It just depends on how many laps it makes around Florida. I have a package coming from New Hampshire that has been making laps around that state for 5 days now.............

I bought a shotgun barrel from a member in Illinois. It was shipped last Tuesday, tracking indicated that it would arrive on Friday, the 26th. The tracking info then only stated that the package was enroute to the next USPS facility, no location, no date of arrival. Today the tracking info says it's still in Illinois! Not the first such problem I've had with them this year.

I ordered one dozen traditional arrows from Past Archery their in Oregon I'm in CA. It took a week or better. Prolly sent them to New Hampshire first.

With the computers of today, if they say it has been delivered, they can also tell you where it was delivered. I've used that before to get a package that was mailed to me.

If you have nothing but lazy people at Point A, and nothing but lazy people at Point B, it's going to be a factor.
Well, there was kinda a winner. Several people stated that they had gotten pkgs 2 days early and flave predicted the 7-3-20, which was the expected arrival date. However, local dirt was the only one that said anything about getting a pkg 1 day early, so local dirt gets the 'Atta Boy' and they rest of you got 'Ol Schits'!

(this contest was held with all the normal democrat rules and regulations...... everyone got a prize)
Beats the heck out of the dead bees we had shipped to us.

Started out as live bees in NC coming all the way across the country. Company says usually 4-6 days transit time. Shipped on a Wed, spent the Memorial Day holiday in a USPS facility somewhere, did not arrive by the following weekend so we got our bees that next Monday. A little more than 4-6 days. Well, actually for a package of bees .............. a lot more than 4-6 days. Nearly all bees dead by the time they arrived.

Glad you luck seems to be better.
Why on earth would you ship live bees by USPS? That is almost like asking for failure.
They lost one of mine that had very explicit
details of where and when the package had
been on it's journey.
It made it to the local post office here and
disappeared. I ended up having the postal
inspector to open an investigation. I never
knew that there are photos taken of packages
by the machines that move them around the
facility. Sure enough, there was a photo of
my package at the facility, so it was for
sure there, but the personnel couldn't say at
all where the package was or who knew
where it was. I eventually got my stuff re shipped
from the vendor at their expense, but nothing
was ever done about the sorry a$$ pinheads
at the post office that lost/stole my goods.
If I had handled something like that and couldn't
account for the disposition of it, I'd be fired
or charged with theft or made to pay for it
or all of the above

At least you get to go home with a Participation Award. grin
Shipped a package from Alabama to North Georgia on 6/19. Went to Tampa area then came back here on 6/24. Last scan here was 6/28. Have an internal Cosumer affairs number I called 6/30 and was promised a call back that day. Has not happened. I called local hub 10 times yesterday with no answer. Guess I will drive over there; frustrating.

Oldman3, I'll have to cut short my victory lap since my 30 Gen 3 Pmags are now 2 days late from Brownell's. Lol. smile

Should be here today, though.
I should get 'honorable mention' or a participation trophy. Ordered a pair of suspenders from Grants Pass OR, 90 miles to the north, by USPS's own tracking data, they went out the next day. Next time I checked tracking, about a week later, they were sitting in a postal facility in Winston-Salem NC. And sat,,,and sat, for 10 working days. 26 days later, they showed up in my maibox.
Neither rain nor snow, nor dark of night....blah de blah.
