I was going to buy one of these.

But decided to build it instead. I'll paint it up this winter.

Sweet! Much more pride in creating than in buying, anyway.

I'd like to ditch my stick welder and go mig, but as seldom as I weld, it's not worth it right now.
To be honest I'm completely sick of China schit, that was the big kick that got me going on it. 100% USA made! Well 99.9%, the Bolts came from Family Farm and Home.

I like that , gave me some ideas.
I use a stainless steel cart with three shelves. I like the idea of drawers though.
That's some fine ingenuity!
Nice!

Where's mine?

grin
Good idea.

Have to start checking the swap meet "dumps" for something like that.
My welder friend says wire feeds are ghey! JK, well done.

When I find another file cabinet I'll weld one up for ya!!
I don't think you should paint it.
Not even John Deere green?
Gov deals?
Great work ! I am closing on a 5500 sq ft shop tomorrow and will eventually buy and learn how to Mig weld...congrats on your ingenuity!!
I came close, Lincoln Welder, Hypertherm Plasma cutter with a Harbor Freight rolling stand. Lincoln on top, Plasma cutter below, MIG tank in back. Still have one shelve for "stuff"..

If you want to drive to Saginaw, I have several file cabinets you can have.
That's a great idea. A place for hand tools, measuring stuff, wire, contact tips, nozzles, etc... All in one location.

Well done!
Looks great. Slap a few gun or tool stickers on it and call it a day.

Pffft. Always a Texan. 👋🏼😉😁
Great idea Paul!
I happen to have an extra file cabinet.
Some steel and the wheels and axle from a game cart.......Viola! A rolling power and large handtool toolbox for hauling behind a little tractor or 4 wheeler her on the homestead.
Why buy the cow when you can drink the milk for free?

Paid one as well
I wouldn’t mind having a wire machine. It be handy on thin metal. I haven’t used one in 35 years. You can surely make some fine looking welds with a wire welder.
Dang wish I could come across one or two file cabinets like that.
Like the drawer arrangement.
