Today Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) issued yet another executive order on the coronavirus outbreak - while the Texas state legislature continues slumbering while collecting paychecks for no work.

As we very clearly explain in today's Ron Paul Liberty Report, the reason for the "spike" in Texas covid cases is a massive ramping up in testing ("Come one come all, it's free!!!!!") and an extraordinary re-definition of what it means to be "covid positive" that was implemented by Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) in mid-May. Texas county and local officials expressed concern that ramping up testing and lowering the threshold to declaring "probable" covid cases (with no testing) as actual "covid cases" would lead to a mass spike in Texas. Turns out they were right.

they closed the beaches here, besides spring break this weekend is when the business on the island make a great part of their income for the year.

HEB won’t let you in without a mask now. We like to eat so guess I’ll have to wear one to go in.

I’ve seen very few masks today. It would seem that Pearl Clutching Gregg is pretty much being ignored.

They probably need to implement an expanded Gage R & R program.

Same here. Our commie governor issued a mask order but it doesn't seem like any who weren't already wearing masks are wearing them.

That's now we need to get rid of them. Not the general election.

Abortion Barbie wouldn't have been a good choice.

The good news is that your legislators aren’t paid in Texas, so at least we are getting out what we put in.

It’s ridiculous that this is where we expected to be two months ago and now they’re pissing their pants over nothing. The fact is that they are picking economic winners and losers for no reason. I don’t go to bars, but shutting them down is pure BS. They ignore the facts and make decisions based on the whim of the news at that second.

Abbott needs to go, no doubt about it.

Our part of the world is putting up with it.....Thank God!

Butthurt much? My post(s) may have been offensive, but were not designed to give offense.

If you could trade your laws for Kansas' and/or your politicians for Kansas', what would you do?

I think his biggest accomplishment has been keeping his name out of the news. COVID screwed that up for him.

I would like to see Dan Patrick as our governor.

I think closing bars is an intelligent choice on their part if .gov is going to interfere with freedoms in the name of "protecting" us as a general population. Th question of course is should .gov be doing so? Not to my mind. Ican largely protect myself using common sense. It does not have to be mandated.

In bars, alcohol lowers inhibitions(as elsewhere) , loud music means heads are closer together and the talk-spittle is flying harder and farther, if there is dancing, bodies are closer together, touchy feely going on,. No one is doing social distancing, quite the opposite. And many more contacts are available to spread the virus vs home or small gathering drinking/partying. Bars are NOT an "essental business" - except to the owners and suppliers.

Alaska's Covid rate is also spiking - 40% of the new cases are in their 20's and 30's i.e. bar patron age. Then they take it home and into their businesses and other contacts.

Well, so be it. Reap what you sow, free choice, right to assemble, etc. Just remember, actions have consequences, good or bad, personally or by .gov.

Not butthurt at all Ethan. Not in the least.

Just making a point that more than just those of us in Cali have to live with crappy politicians..................even supposedly "conservative" ones.

As for trading for things in Kansas........................I might could trade a goodly number of ours for some good Kansas laws and pols...................But no way will I trade our geography, weather, rivers etc for that of Kansas.

Yep. More testing and a re-definition of “positive” means more cases. Nothing more than more political Bullschitt.

Yet they didn’t shut down the schools or Walmart.
Their too afraid the Groids, wetbacks, and EBT card holding welfare rats in Dallas, Houston, and Austin will loot and burn.
If Covid really was as deadly as they claim, it would have already wiped out that part of our population.
Which would be just fine with me.

Abbott is a moderate who has lots of money in his campaign fund. He’s running for president in 2024. I hope he gets replaced as governor in 2022 by a real conservative.
