When wife is not working hard on something she reads to relax. I thought she might enjoy this book by Roy's wife dale Evans.

I'd like to read it when she is through.

Would being unaware make it an obtuse angle?

You folks are making fun of American icons.

At our church they play Happy Trails at the end of the service, I like it.

I have one from the first run. My mom gave it to me about sixty or more years ago.

Thank you Ringman, that's interesting. Roy, and Gene Autry made wholesome movies for kids. The good guys wore the white hats, drank milk, or sassaoarilli.

Always fought clean, could shoot the bad guy's gun out of his hand.

On a Statler Brothers thread a few years back it was reported that Harold Reed loved Roy Rogers movies, played them in his home theater often..

At the south end of Lone Pine, California, on the 395 there is a movie museum built by Roy Rogers' daughter and son-in-law. A five dollar donation for adults is all they ask and it is worth it. It has a great collection of movie stuff about the films made there. A ton of Hopalong Cassidy, Roy Rogers, Gunga Din, and modern ones like Star Trek V and the first Iron Man. They even have Randolph Scott's engraved Colt pistols in 44-40.

The kindly docents told me to head west at the only stoplight in town and you will soon be at the turn to Movie Road. Two minutes later and you are among the rocks in which your movie heroes shot some of their greatest scenes .

When I was a kid I hated it when cowboys sang. Roy was cool enough to get away w/ it, Gene, not so much.

Nope, Paladin and Josh raised the bar. Matt was OK for a guy who hung out w/ cripples and hookers. Then Festus came along and elevated everyone's game.

Surprised that this recording had so many views.
In case you've never been here, most of these.pictures aren't of West Virginia.

It is a taste of paradise when you get away from towns though.

Happy trails

In the '70s there was a chain of headshops in the Phoenix area called Happy Trails. My sister didn't know Roy and Dale had recorded the song many years earlier; the first time she heard it she was shocked they would do an ad for a headshop.
