So, it's been an interesting 8 hours. First, a big fire started behind the house in the mountains from lightning right at dark. It's 7 miles away and it's moving fast. Take a peak. Plan on reevaluating in morning.

3 hours of sleep in, my phone starts blowing up. A big client of mine, the local power provider in town is repairing downed power lines from same storm and stumbled into a bee hive in a downed pole. Sets off a nighttime bee attack. So, I'm headed to town at 3 AM to deal with the bees as folks are headed to hospital from bee stings. Fire looks sporty in the dark on the way in.

Y'all have a great day - coffee is real strong this morning...

I am on the side. My main job is bee removal from personal or commercial properties and subsequent construction. These specific bees got nuked as there were 10+ houses within 100 yards...

All I deal with professionally are feral Africanized bees...

Getting very dry down here too.

No rain in sight.

Stay vigilant over there.

Damn, I hope that fire stays away from you and blows itself out in the mountain.

Good Luck.

Rattlesnakes, Africanized bees, wild fires....

Why would anyone want to live there?

Hope things take an upswing for ya.

Navigating the apocalypse on a Sunday.

Got git em GW.

Hope they get it under control.

It would appear life is never not exciting for you Greg.

Hope they get a handle on the fire soon.

Brother up in Flag had strikes within 0.2 miles of his place. One south of him got something going but they jumped on it quick. Safe for now, but who knows about today.

Hoping nothing gets going here, like someone dragging a trailer chain. Yesterday at about 5Pm it was 91F with 5% humidity and 26 MPH gust and a steady 20 blowing.

And here I was grumbling about the heat wave, it was like 85F and chit. I feel better now, no offense.

Greg,

any rain yesterday to help with that fire? I saw it rained in Tucson yesterday evening.
Posted By: GregW Re: Interesting Night - 07/12/20
It's at 1400 acres or so. No containment. Rain in Tucson, dry lightning down here which is how it started. 2 other small fires started but were put out fast.

This photo was taken from Tucson about 11 PM last night, about 30 miles away from fire...

It should run out of fuel in a few days or so unless there's a north wind, which happens about twice a year....😁.

They are taking it serious as slurry is being dropped....

It's supposed to be 114 today too, all sorts of record heat....

Stay safe Greg. I know you can handle the bees and snakes, not sure about those fires though. Scary deal.

GW,
Just checking if it’s safe to come out from under the bed?

Fricken killer bees and poisonous snakes, and all before breakfast.

SMH πŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

Grins.

Good grief Greg, that's a high risk job! Somebody from the Discovery channel should follow you around and start a new series.

Let's see. You live in Arizona, but probably not close to Phoenix. If you bookmark this channel there's some good Bible that covers those challenges that you're facing. I highly recommend the church. Here's a sample.
