Been watching episodes of Gunsmoke. The IPTV service I subscribe to streams other old westerns - Rawhide, Laredo, Branded....

buy I'm addicted to Have Gun Will Travel.

I've watched 4 episodes today. I love it.

No news or sports for me - just old westerns, at least until I run out.
I believe Gunsmoke was the longest running show ever - 635 episodes. Should be enough to keep you busy for quite a while.

I think you'll find that the Simpsons is the longest scripted show on tv and still is running.

Gunsmoke was the longest running teevee show with LIVE actors, not cartoon characters. It ran 1955 through 1975.

No shootin' mf'ers. 😁
Just learned recently that Miss Kitty died of AIDS!
Apparently caught it from her husband.
I grew up watching Gunsmoke. I never saw Have Gun Will Travel until I was 30, but once I did it became my favorite. Paladin quoting Shakespeare right before he ventilates the bad guy is just too cool.

Love all the old westerns! I've been watching a bunch of the "Tales Of Wells Fargo" lately.

Old Jim Hardy was a man's man. Shoots at least one bad guy in every show, in between fist fights! smile

I’ll watch MeTV a bunch.

It’s over the air. Saturday’s they play the old westerns.

Maverick. Have gun will travel. Wagon train.

At night I’ll watch green acres and Hogan’s hero’s.

if you binge watch Gunsmoke you'll also notice that Dillon just kind of made up the law as he went.

another thing is, while outside the city he'd bury a man he shot, but in the city, he just left the guy laying in the street, hotel, long branch, etc. I guess the garbage man came around and picked them up.

I've got my wife watching it with me now though. We look forward to finding time to watch an episode.
I'll be that guy. I don't think I could sit through an episode of anything western mentioned here. Could when I was a kid.

Even at 5 years old, Bonanza was my favorite and still is. Loved that house and the gun cabinet.

alot of shows are westerns, just not set in the 1800's.

Firefly - a popular sci-fi show is a Western

Heck, you could argue Star Trek is a western - Have Gun, Will Travel was written by Gene Roddenberry

Think about the format of a western - stock plot of depicting a crime, then showing the pursuit of the wrongdoer, ending in revenge and retribution, which is often dispensed through a shootout

Tough mf'er
Dead or alive you're just a dollar sign to Jake Cahill.

On... Bounty Law.
Paladin was unique. An intellectual gunfighter who lived in a swanky hotel in San Francisco, where he played chess in the lobby.
Good God! The name of the Chinese bellhop was "Hey Boy."

I'll see if'n I can locate some Have Gun.... I recall suffering my dad thru episodes of The Lone Ranger as a kid. He said he didn't like them 20 years ago why would he now! Don't much care for the movies many call Classics too. Just boring I am.

Tarantino has written at least 5 episodes of Bounty Law. I expect to see it on Netflix soon. DiCaprio will not be in it though

Hank Aaron hit more home runs, but the title belongs to Babe. Later shows and series may have lasted longer, but the acting and writing for Gunsmoke eclipses anything the other 2 can brag about.
