flave recommended it several months back and called me a cheap bastard for not buying it. I been wanting to watch it. So finally I broke down and told the daughter to just buy a copy in the Walmart store. They only had Blue Ray for like $24. I don't have Blue Ray and I know the regular DVD is like, ten dollars less. Wtff?

So I start flipping around thinking I'll just buy it through Netflix or Prime Video. They had it on Prime Video but it was free with Starz free trial. So I got it free after all. Hah! (As Jim Conrad would say...some sort of Eksimo lingo or whatnot.)

So, me and my boy watched it. It was officially okay. Not excellent, but worth the price. It was worth watching just for all the sixties references.

One thing I didn't get was Pitt smoking the acid-laced cig. What was the purpose? IDGAF, but I still don't get the point of it. The dawg chomping Tex's testicles was awesome.

If only that ending had happened in real life enjoyed the movie though

Most of these channels will work on your laptop, the rest require their VPN. What I get FREE on my laptop in my area:

Fox News
MSNBC (ugh! Don't watch)
CNN (ugh! Don't watch)
Turner Classic Movies
Starz
FX
Syfy
TV Land
BBC America

There's probably a few other channels on the right side I can watch, I don't have the time or interest to bother looking at them, Fox News and Turner Classic Movies covers most of what I have time to watch.

That scene alone was worth the price of admission. I also liked where Pitt forced the guy to fix his car, and the Bruce Lee scene. I thought the scene with Steve McQueen was pretty impressive, too.

Neat.
I liked the movie. Tate murder was big news when I was young!

Me too.

In fact, that's what's cool about the movie. It captures America as it was when I was a kid.

PS The only defect with the Bruce Lee scene was that it depicted 1970s Bruce, not 1960s Bruce. Totally different look. In the 1960s, Bruce Lee was clean cut and conservative in appearance.

I liked the Bruce Lee scene too. I'll admit to never having heard of him acting like that though.

Timothy Olyphant as James Stacy was terribly miscast. My son and I laughed our asses off. I didn't recognize Olyphant though I knew he was in it. Honestly...seriously...Olyphant looked more like Larry Storch of F Troop, than he did Lancer's James Stacy. Check it out on IMDb is anybody doesn't believe me. It's comical.
I'm here to do some devil chit.... That not verbatim.
Too bad that instead of DeCaprio, Tarantino would've cast Luke Perry in his last role as the washed up actor. That would've been fitting.
There’s a lot of things in the film that you probably missed.Things in the background of scenes. If you watch it again you’ll see what I mean.I thought the film was entertaining, which isn’t what I can say for the majority of recent movies.Language was not a high point for me,but that’s typical of Tarantino’s films...
Bump for Deflave.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is one of the greatest films ever made.

It is not unlike other classics in that if you watch it once, your brain says "That was a good movie." But if you watch it 12 times your brain says "I can't believe how genius this movie is." Think Goodfellas, Casino, Scarface, Reservoir Dogs, Snatch. The nuances and dialogue are what take the movie from good, to great.

I am not a fan of DiCaprio but he absolutely nailed this role in every way.

Last but not least there are two movies I can name that will keep a wide range of age groups totally entertained. Once Upon a Time is one of them. This is indicative of a movie that is, and will remain timeless.
Acid laced cig lol...

That was a dipper old timer. It wasnt acid, it was PCP.

The movie is a slow burn.

Most of the movie is spent establishing the Cliff character as a very dark, and potentially dangerous person. Were he not high and disoriented the climatic scene would have been less climatic. Because of his being stoned and not seeing things the way a person should, it builds suspense and makes the audience wonder if he can still find his way out of the situation.

It was acid. They said so in the movie. PCP was a good ten years out.

Doggie liked Mountain Oysters.

Seen it 3X. Better each time. If Tarantino holds to his commitment to stop either by 60 or after film #10, it’s a loss for film as an art form.

Hopefully there will still be some Nicholas Sparks films on the horizon.

I think Tarantino has made some great movies, and I think Once Upon a Time is his best.

But he's made some real schit shows as well.

^^^^^^^^^^^ This.
I think QT must be kind of messed up in the head to come up with some of the content in his movies that he does... but boy I sure laugh my ass off at a lot of his scenes.
