Been hot and dry here and the hummers are out of the hills. Cookie spent about an hour sitting in the rig by one of her feeders.

A little sharper when they're sitting still

We think immature Rufus or possibly a Rufus female

Canon EOS 7D Mk ll, ISO 200, 1/2000 sec, at F4, with a Canon 500 mm lens.
Second image same rig but ISO 250 and 1/640 sec.
Not much depth of field there.

Sorry, no hooker shots.

Annas?
We're now seeing this year's brood of little black-chins. They're gulping down my nectar as fast as they can. Last year, they started migrating in mid-August. Hope they hang around a bit longer this year. It's a long, sad time until they come back in April.

Edit to say: Forgot to applaud you for that truly remarkable photo. May I save it for my own use as a wallpaper?

Rocky: If Cookie lets me put it up, it's public. Might get a little better resolution if one goes to the Postimage site.

Have a good one,
Thanks, good sir. I know that anything here is public, but always ask.
Great snaps. Thanks for posting.
