Can anyone recommend hunting boots made in the USA.

I think both Danner and Rocky make some of their boots over seas.
Thorogoods.

This, I’ve got a pair or work boots on now. Very well made and comfortable

The Danner's will have a US Flag on them if they are made in Portland, but Lacrosse sent most of the items over seas. Thorogood is the only one I know of, unless you go hand made like White's (also owned by Lacrosse now) and maybe Hoffman Boots.

Depending on price range and what use you are looking for.

I have some T-goods, Double H, Red Wings and a pair of Imperials from RMC that I can think of off hand. I have found that a few of the companies that have imported boots also have a few American made in their line as well.
Thank you OLDHAT for caring about the American economy and workers.
Whites Boots
Whites and Nick's.

They cost a little more than the Chinese junk, but they can be rebuilt for the rest of your life... which will make them the cheapest boots you ever buy.

There may be others now... I bought a pair of Nick's 10 years ago and haven't needed any since.

And whoever you leave them to in your will. laugh
Word of caution, Georgia boots advertises boots as made in America, and the boot, an ill fitting boot at that, was made in the Dominic republic.

Thorogoods is all I wear for workboots. If I didn't have a surplus of other hunting boots I'd buy some waterproof Thorogoods.

Kenetreck are made in Italy. The Schnee's that look like them are also made in Italy. Schnee's pac boots are made in Montana.

They've been bought out. Most are made in China or Mexico now. They do have a Made in USA filter on their website, 21 offerings from the USA, small in comparison to all that they sell.

I had some years ago and liked them but nobody sells them around here anymore and I'm not going to buy boots without being able to try them on first.
You can filter Danner’s website for “Made in the USA”

I’m on my second pair of Danner Grouse boots and think they are great for hunting if steep terrain or long walks are involved.

I’ve had Russell’s before but ordered 2 pair this spring and it wasn’t a good experience. Even though both pairs were supposedly size 10s they were each different sizes and both were significantly larger than my 25 year old size 10 Russell’s that I was hoping to replace. They are supposed to be reasonably waterproof as well but my old pair and the one new pair I wore on a hunt leaked in the same spot just from dew in the grassy field. I decided life was too short to pay that much for boots and then immediately have those issues
I’m a redwing fan. You do have to look because not all of them are made in the USA on certain models.
The Danners made in the USA have stitch down soles and can be re-soled. I have a pair of Alaskans, Santiams and Explorer. The Explorers, I've had since '95 and still wear well.
Hoffmans are the best boots I have ever owned. I wear the Powerline boot every day all day, and in almost a year of use have never had sore feet, climbing utility poles and remodeling houses. First boot I have ever worn that I expect to get multiple years of use out of. Most I have had, including Danners, did good to last a year. A pair of Hoffman’s with some Darn Tough socks between the boots and your feet, and foot worries are over.

Yeah....I was way off!

Italy isn't the USA at all!

Danner is not even close to the quality of a White's boot.
Russell Moccasin is great if you don't mind paying and waiting for custom boots. I stopped by their place when I was up in the area on a business trip and they take an outline of your foot and custom make the boot to your specifications. I like a minimalist style boot with no heel rise and they made just what I wanted..
If you got fat feet, try Belleville
These are nice:

If you wear a 6.5, 7 or a 16.
Thorogood boots for work.
American made Danners for hunting.

Used to wear Chippewa boots, made in Wisconsin, or used to be. Would last in a mechanic environment better than most others. Great work boots and I also wore them for moose hunting.
I have worn Thorogoods at work. Good boots.
I have been wearing Russells since the early 80s for hunting boots. Have a light pair and some Mountain boots now. Expect to wear them the rest of my life.May have them resoled. But the uppers will last and they are quality.
double H boots,
Yes. WHITES of Spokane, Wa. Lived in them since about 1982. Bought my first pair, went on a 9 day deer outing, and ordered second pair as soon as I got home. Presently have four pair with one pair having been rebuilt twice. Expensive and damned well worth it. About the only choice for loggers and wildland firefighters.

My work boots are American made Red Wings.
My hunting boots are American made Danners.

I realize that both companies make boots overseas, but I can't find what I need from anyone that doesn't. Before I buy from Japan or similar, I will buy European like Lowa, Hanwag or Crispi
My first pair of Whites smoke jumpers were resoled 14 times. They said after number 14, we can’t resole/rebuild any more. I ordered a new pair which will last me. They’ll need new soles again pretty soon.
Working in steep country the Whites heel is a real handy tool to stay upright. At 6’5” and 250 pounds I’m tough on boots. Even at age 65 and retired.
There is nothing like handmade boots for your feet.
Danner Canadians, about as comfortable as I’ve used. I’ve not been easy on them and worn in 105 down to -25 no issues no water in unless I walked into a creek over the top of them. Used them to throw calcium a few years and forgot to clean it off or dress them. Finally 6 years In after a bear dragged one off the porch and gnawed it the toe rubber separated some last season. Thought it too late to get a rebuild before hunting so I used some E6000 in the split. Still rolling strong but I’ll probably send them in after this season.

I wanted to go Whites especially after the accident with one leg being real weird shaped from bones fusing but at the time the legs where still too swollen to measure. Dancers haven’t disappointed and I’m on hard granite hoofing it up and down sheer cliffs most of my hunts. I still want to try the Smoke Jumpers.

I tried the Danner SRFs but I was on flatter terrain then and they had a harder sole and stiffer double uppers. The last started making an odd noise and Danner offered full credit. When I purchased the SRFs I tried the Canadians and they were like an old glove. They just didn’t have my size. I asked Danner to Swap and no questions asked.
Russells, made in Wisconsin. Expensive but IME worth every penny.

Whites are pricey but they are built to last, I bought my first pair in 1968 and have not been without a pair since then - they are a true quality boot. Buy once and cry once - bu cheap and have sore feet and replace them often. Once you have Whites nothing else is as good.

I have a hell of a time getting boots that fit since I have quite narrow feet. I have one pair of Danners which seemed fine for a while but the right boot has a seam which hits right at the base of my little toe and they boots are painful as a result. Sadly, the best boots I have ever owned are Scarpas from Italy. The pair I have now are 9 years old and probably have 5000 miles on them. One more pair should take me to the rest home. GD

Only if you wear a size 6 or 6 1/2... Out of stock,,,,
Cove Shoe/HH Brown is a good size boot builder here in Martinburg Pa.
They specialize in specialized boots, built for known brands.
Due to foot shape combined with an Achilles injury, I gave up wearing
their loggers boot (Carolina) years ago. I should hit the outlet and see if they have
anything usable now. Most of their stuff is 6" or up, and that's a no-go.

Whites builds their boots custom sized for you based on your feet, differences between right and left foot, arch and other foot parameters.
I grew up among North Idaho loggers and the men were split between those who swore by Whites and those who swore at them. I wore Red Wings because, in those days, I could get Red Wings which fit pretty good for about 1/4 the cost of a pair of Whites. This was fifty years ago, mind you. When I moved up north, the biggest concern was keeping my feet warm at minus thirty and colder. GD

I'm fond of Russell's for a few reasons. Mine fit just right from day one, they last well, and if I do need repairs, they're on the way to the hunting camp or Mom and Dad's house. They also sell fairly large bits of scrap leather for a few bucks a pound. It's handy stuff for arts & crafts projects.

These display wonderful Euro hunting style. The ones from expensive line are usually Made in USA. You can ask before buying and they will tell you.
