That storm just came through here and we didn’t see any of the high winds. Quite a bit of noise and some lightning but nothing too severe.

We experienced some 80 MPH wind in our 5th wheel last week. We were set up in an RV park and the wind came at us broadside. Things got a little sporty...

Yeah, nothing here yet. Proly be mild ( as usual ).
Was out w a bud checking a yote spot when a wicked squall line came through.

You coul hear it coming and then the knee high corn turned silver as is bent over..

Rope like cloud line as far as you could see.

Big dually truck, was fine.......just cool to be sitting out in the open and see/ hear it coming.

Had one come through while dove hunting up north once.

Very cool.

Nothing bad really, some branches down. Power out in some places ( for ? reason ).

Total.BS.

We had a strong wind storm around 9AM today. It broke a lot of tree branches, blew trash cans around, and knocked power out in many areas of eastern Nebraska.

I read that 100,000 acres, 156 square miles, of corn in Iowa was damaged. Lots of tree damage, with Cedar Rapids getting hit particularly hard. My Daughter's dorm at ISU was out of power for a day or so.

Some still without power here. Spotty. Majority was back on within 8 hrs.

Weather doesnt bother me.

The ol lady used to watch tornado shows.

Until she had one comin down the street at her on the way home. Hopped in our hood. Lots of nice old trees gone, many roofs damaged. Missed us by maybe 150 yards.
Slight hill our addition. Proly what saved the houses.

I wasnt home, was at LGS, watched it cross the highway a ways down. Had two but only saw the one.

Couple yrs before i made a turn at the light, rain so bad I couldnt see, so stopped. Nader took out the business behind me.

Couldnt see it or hear it.....rain hitting my jeep so hard.

Couple yrs before that pops and i left restaurant and saw traffic pulled over. Looked over my shoulder and a little one was crossing the road ( took out stuff a block over ).

One did just miss our deer spot. Snapped a bunch of elm already dead/ dying. State deer spot hit w another.

Yellow dots all over, where the tree trunks snapped.
Ruined those spots, all the downed limbs and other....cant walk through there.

We got the $hit kicked out of us Monday. I'm just north of Des Moines and we got hit hard. 15 miles further north and they got hammered. All the way to Illinois. This was video was shot in Cedar Rapids. My brother in law had a 50 foot silo just on the west side of his barn. The barn was built around the WWII time frame along with the silo. The silo collapsed on top of the barn and destroyed the barn.

I think a few gusts may have hit 70 here, but most around 50.

Looked to fizzle when it hit Indiana

Even mother nature says this is a boring state

My SIL is a lineman for CIPCO (Central Iowa Power Cooperative).

Monday evening they were told to pack clothes for at least a week and be ready to roll early Tuesday.

CIPCO alone has 600 poles down. Jason's crew was going to start on a string of 40 down poles south of Ames, IA

.........and that’s just fine with me.....
I made the 400 mile drive from Omaha to Ames, IA, and back yesterday. I didn't see any crop damage along I-80, north of Des Moines along I-35 you couldn't miss it. I saw a lot of blown down corn, quite a bit of tree damage near the ISU campus in Ames, a couple of semi-trailers blown over, and several road signs along I-35 either broken off or bent over horizontal. I've never heard of a Derecho wind storm before. Today the local news is reporting the 1 Billion bushel of corn has been damaged and may not survive to maturity or be able to be harvested.
