OK.. I trimmed a hedge row back, and these things popped up all over the place.

Sorry the picture is sideway - but what the heck are they

I don’t mean the marigolds ... those were there.

Hallelujah. Did your wife plant those, Wabi?

Yeah these are a weird real deal... Bare dirt to this in less than a week..
No Doc, that's a web image. She raises a lot of beautiful flowers, but not those.
Around here they are called naked ladies.
We call them naked lilies. They will take over.

Naked ladies.
Nekkid ladies,

Amaryllis
We haven't seen them around here in years and this year they are everywhere. Surprise lillies.
They'll be gone in a week or so.

Yes. Unknowingly planted some seeds a few years ago in my garden and 3 years later still trying to get rid of them.
Around here they always pop up in August. Usually a bright red color. Many years ago there was one plant amongst them that was blue. Have never seen another blue one.
Old groids have them around their hovels in these parts

Sometimes in a tractor tire flower bed, center of the yard

Not sure how you’d google it..
If'n you have a smart phone download a app called plantsnap. Impress the ladies with your plant knowledge.
Take a picture and it tells you what it is. 80% of the time its right.

I use plantsnap a lot. Like you said, about 80% of the time it is correct on the spot-checks I've done on it.
