Nice bull, especially for his first time at bat. But certainly not "massive"
Any elk taken with a bow is a trophy.

Your ongoing requests to him are beginning to slow this whole site down.

It's a Roosey so you don't expect huge antlers but the body doesn't look nearly big enough for 'massive' status.
someone taught the kid some stalking skills, socked feet are the way to go for those last few yards.
Good on him...
Any bull elk taken by a 13yr old kid and his bow, is gonna be massive. Good on him.
Anybody else notice the big burn or sore looking thing on that elk? Maybe the wound site? Looks too far back for a solid hit though. What am I seeing there?
Next Meateater episode: “Justin Bieber goes after elk”
Congrats to the kid. Archery elk is a great accomplishment.
Does look like he hit it a little far back. Spine shot?
Way to go, kid. Nice bull.

Looks like a several day old wound. Could be from another bull, rut is just started here. I’ve skinned several elk that had old puncture wounds that had healed over but found them during skinning. One 7x7 my son took was really old and skinny but had a good rack had probably a dozen old wounds.
Relative to deer, most all elk are massive.
Story says NE Oregon, so not a Roosey.
Doesn't matter where he hit it,13 yo gets a bull on his first archery hunt,it's in the freezer ,congrats to the lad.
well done.

You're right. I misread it.
