2016 was the start of changes within American politics, and we are alive to witness it and even participate, if one chooses to.

Corruption in politics isn’t new, it’s always been there, always will be. But, we are living in a time where political corruption is being laid out before us. Not all of it, but chunks large enough to get our teeth into and not let it go.

We are seeing epic levels of greed, influence, social reform and revolts taking shape. Where’s it heading? What does the end of the past and a new beginning going to look like?

I hate the liberal media’s wording of “The New Normal”. Struggle isn’t NEW to Americans, we’ve always struggled to become something more, something bigger, something better.

I believe the differences lie in what each side considers better.

My better is freedom of choices for myself without infringement by others who want to control my health, wealth and safety.

Ownership and responsibility for my decision being on me, not others.

Hand ups to those who want to better their lives, and demonstrate it - Not continue a meager existence provided by government through our taxes.

Better for me is a government that works within its legal boundaries and politicians elected to serve, driven, not by a ability to prosper financially, but to serve in a process to improve America and Americans lives through equal and fair justice.

The End

😎

PS
Liberalism, Socialism, and Communism isn’t the answer.

I may be drinking...😎
Did you write all that yourself or is it C&P. No offense either way, it's pretty good.

As JoeBob said awhile back, if it's not the last days, it's a damned accurate trial run, or something like that.
All Beave...😎
Cheers!
There's no money in being an elected official if the government worked like it should. A real American that cares for his country would do the job for nothing.
We are living in WW3, an atypical war of good versus the principalities of evil and it is the battle for the world and control of all nations.

Will Trump be our Roosevelt? Who’s gonna be Churchill and Chamberlain?

I will not state an opinion on Jefferson.

I will say that John Adams is the greatest President America has ever had... Trump may surpass him though.

The John Adams miniseries is a wonderful program if you have never seen it. Happy to share my copy if you will cover the Media Rate shipping.
"I believe the differences lie in what each side considers better."

The left considers whats better is to have that dreamed of Utopian carrot of BS with one world govt they have been indoctrinated and fed. Its an impossible dream this side of Heaven and they dont believe in God so they are SOL.

They are too stupid to look at the demise D leaders have brought to their cities and now they are too stupid to look at the peaceful riots of anarchy their D leaders have brought.

They are too stupid to learn from history the heavy hand of communism is truly heavy and comes with a price and the return is not their dreamed of Utopia but the misery of China, Cuba or pet eating Venezuela.

They are too stupid to even listen to what Biteme promises, higher taxes, higher gas and electricity prices through lower energy production and no guns with which to defend ones family. They are too stupid to see the fallacy of waiting for the cops though in thousands of cases the last 3 mo the cops have never come.

Well, the last couple of months hsve seen the greatest numbers of background checks in history. Some say it's lieberals buying guns. I think not. Lieberals know Joe wont be running things long and Hairass will be in charge. Would you, as a lieberal, be spending money buying guns while expecting Beto to take them away? I again, think not.
Core Jefferson was that "No Generation has the right to impose it's will or burden (National Debt) upon the Next Generation."
democrats are set to violently not accept a Trump win. Election day
will be the start of the insanity, not the finish. Mail-in voting guarantees chaos.
The left banks on the stupidity they have seeded and grown for the last 40 - 50 years.

The idiots will lap up all the B/S they feed them without a second thought and will follow lockstep into socialist hell.

Don't even claim to know the trajectory or speed but I think we are well on that road to hell.

In the long term I think you are right because throughout history all great nations have eventually destroyed themselves through affluence. We will never return to a constitutional government but we have a chance to delay the inevitable. Maybe for only four years, maybe longer, but we need to be willing to fight the fight.
Beaver10: I hope you are drunk.
I am thankful indeed for being alive today but would have to earnestly disagree with your contention that it is a "great time to be alive"!
I am seeing (and perhaps you are to drunk or intellectually unaware?) of the horrors and damage being done to our society, country, morals, institutions, youth, our liberties and our constitutional rights.
I also see a slow degradation into socialism, violence and anarchy.
None of which are "great".

After studying both men at great length, I idolize both Jefferson and Adams.

We can't even get the "real Americans" here to agree whether they should gladly serve on Jury Duty. Do you think we could find enough
"real Americans" to sit a Representative for each District and two Senators from each state?

Your probably right, at least our POTUS set a good example. Serving jury duty stinks until you give it a little thought, wouldn't you rather have a jury trial than be judged? I would like to see professional jurors that get a decent cost of living wage. There's a lot of older retired people that would like something to do.
That's why it sort of upsets me when I see "good hard working folks" doing their dangdest to get out of jury duty. From every walk of life and education level

Those are just the type I want to be on my jury.

Not necessarily a retired homemaker.

No "professional" jurors for me..........as someone mentioned, there seems to be one or two on every jury that want's to make like they know everything already. Can you imagine the "I've been doing this for 20 years now, don't tell me how it works" type of person on a jury your serving on. I can. Probably be a fist fight or a shout down with me there listening to that.

Maybe start with a overhaul of the judicial trial process where instead of Plaintiff, Prosecution and Defense operating from a adversarial position, both sides, with a Judge’s help, work together to uncover the truth? Novel idea?

Let’s also streamline the Plea Bargaining to a point where either the Prosecutor files charges and tries them based on known facts, or releases the individual due to lack of evidence.

Early Pleas can only be offered by the defense team in an effort to lower the risk of time in prison, knowing a guilty verdict is almost a guarantee based on the uncovered and known evidence.

Lastly, If a Prosecutor plays Wheel of Fortune by taking a case to trial and loses. The State and DA’s Office has to pay all costs of the defendant’s attorney’s fee’s plus lost wages, and defamation, if there is anything provable that hurt the defendant before or during trial in the public’s eye.

Novel idea, most def. But, never work in reality of our world. Defense wants to "win", hoping to get more clients based on rep. Prosecution wants to "win", better for re-election and move up the political ladder (witness the number of ex prosecutors in politics). Judges might be the best place to start..............maybe.

OK, except see my reply above regarding "win". Prosecutor gets a plea deal and it equals a "conviction" in the numbers game. Matters not if the bad guy gets probation. And the Prosecutor's budget takes less of a hit too.

Sure thing. Every perp in the world that plays the game knows a plea to a lesser charge is the way to go, lower prison term and a lesser charge on the books (eg possession vs possession for distribution) . The defense attys are not going to give that cookie up easily.

Ouch......and ouch again..................Might be a good idea, especially in cases where the defendant is truly innocent. But, do you think the good people (taxpayers) would ever go for that? State, County, and Municipal prosecutors might never bring anyone to trial, even those caught with the proverbial smoking gun in hand. Maybe if there was a clause where they didn't have to pay if there was a complication like a failure to Mirandize the defendant, or a bad search warrant.

We're sort of stuck with what we have I'm afraid.

Then again.................................I'm a cynical Boomer

Basically, the Dems believe that .gov is the answer to ALL problems.
Repubs believe that if .gov would just get the Hell out of the way, folks could solve the problems !!!

Guess which philosophy I follow.
