Why I'm Voting for Trump...Even Though I Don't Want To

I don't want to vote for Donald Trump. I wrote in another candidate in 2016. But here's what I do want to vote for.

I want to vote for the American flag. Comrades of mine, black and white, died for that flag. I stopped watching the NFL four years ago, and now I've stopped watching all pro sports because of the disrespect. The Democrats do not condemn flag-burners.

I want to vote to defend the police. Yes, there are bad cops. But there are bad people in every category or profession. Even bad Marines. Without the cops, whom do you call if you are in an accident, someone tries to break into your house, or your neighbor shoots his wife? Violent and property crime will go up in proportion to the lack of police or to police being restrained by politicians. Kamala Harris said in 2009 that she wanted more police on the streets — what changed? Surveys, even in black neighborhoods, show that people want more cops on the street.

I want to vote to make black lives matter. Defunding the police would take the lives of thousands more black folks every year — mostly killed by black thugs. More black folks have been killed this year by BLM riots than by rogue cops. Blacks are 13% of the population, but 47% of the murder victims and 52% of the killers. The leading cause of death in young black males is murder by other young black males. Blacks are 40% of Planned Parenthood abortions. Let's defund Planned Parenthood to stop black genocide.

I want to vote to make black lives better. Black employment is at historic highs, much higher than under the Obama-Biden administration. Black folks should be able to choose high-quality schools for their kids just as the rich Democrats do. I want to vote for school choice and charter schools. And I want to stop the riots, which are destroying both black and white jobs.

I want to vote for a strong economy. Obama said jobs were never coming back. Employment was way up by February of 2020, dropped with COVID, but is recovering. My wife and I are retired and depend on our draw from our IRA. It is about $180k higher than it was in January, 2016. I don't want to go back to that.

I want to vote for law and order and against Antifa and BLM. The violence, looting, and destruction in our cities is intolerable, abetted by weak Democrat mayors. Joe Biden recently came out against violence — three months after the riots started. He has never condemned Antifa or BLM. They are part of his base. And we now have black privilege in our cities. A black person who loots and riots or assaults another black person is less likely to be arrested because the police think they won't be supported, and if the person threatens them and they shoot, the police will be made the criminals.

I want to vote for an unbiased media establishment, one where the facts are presented without editorial spin, and stories are not killed because they do not fit the agenda. I want to vote for trial by jury, not trial in the media before the facts are known.

I want to vote against open borders and illegal immigration. As bad and racist as the left says America is, if everyone who wanted to come here came, our economic system would collapse, and we would become a third-world country.

I want to vote for the First Amendment. Freedom of speech means tolerating even speech you hate.

I want to vote for the Second Amendment. If the Democrat politicians can be surrounded by folks with guns to protect them, the average citizen deserves the same right of self-defense. Biden-Harris have made no secret of their desire to criminalize gun ownership (while de facto legalizing looting). There is a reason why guns and ammo have grown scarce lately: scared citizens are on the largest gun-buying spree in history.

I want to vote for judges who interpret the law according to the Constitution as written, not ones who find justification in it for anything they want.

I want to vote for a strong defense. Biden-Harris will eviscerate the military to pay for vote-buying programs.

I want to vote to stand up to China. I've always been for free trade. But China's espionage, theft of intellectual property, knock-off products, and unfair trade practices must be addressed. And we must stand with China's neighbors against a new East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere.

I want to vote to support capitalism. Only the twin miracles of free-markets and democratic institutions have lifted hundreds of millions out of poverty. The poor in America live better than the middle class in the Third World. You don't see the leftists who chant, "Death to America" packing to leave. Socialism always starts with golden promises and ends in bloody oppression.

So, no, I don't want to vote for Donald Trump. But voting for him is the only way I can vote for the things I do want to vote for.

Personally, I want to vote for Donald Trump. Early in the last election, my first choice was Rand Paul followed by Ted Cruz with DJT at number three. He quickly eclipsed the other two and I was on the Trump train and have never departed from it. Choo-choo...KAG!

Trump is a dirty thumb in the eye of the ruling class. That is as good as it will ever be again at the ballot box. And given the uselessness of Americans voting for what they want, sticking it to the judeo-puritans and their lackeys is enough to make the effort worthwhile.

I have not watched network TV in nearly 30 years now. Consequently I had little familiarity with "The Orange Man".

What follows is a reprint of the seminal article that helped me decide to board the Trump Train. This article was dated July 22, 2016.

Having been self employed all my adult life, and having both successes and failures, I believed this guy might just be real. I Secondly, IIRC, I watched a clip on Youtube of an interview DJT did with "The Oprah" circa 1983. In this clip "The Oprah" asked the Orange Man if he would ever run for POTUS. IIRC his answer was something to the effect of......

"The only way I'd run for POTUS is if this country got so screwed up that it would take a businessman like me to fix it".

It was at that point that this Constitutional Conservative (as opposed to Republican, Democrat, Independent, or Libertarian) decided he could happily support DJT.

Donald Trump: A Working Stiff in a Brioni Suit

The establishment's in meltdown, the media's on suicide watch, and the donor class are sobbing uncontrollably on their therapist's couch. The reason: Donald J. Trump is the 2016 Republican nominee. Yep, the billionaire media star the people can't get enough of and Washington can't get rid of has closed the deal.

So how did this happen? Lord knows Washington royalty threw everything they have at this guy, but all the king's money and all the king's men can't knock Trump off his Mexican-funded wall.

The left's explanation for Trump's staying power is voter anger, but we've been Hulk-pissed for years, so what's different in 2016? The difference is that we the people have one of our own to lead, someone we trust to break the government chains and free the American people from establishment despotism.

Granted, no one thought the people's liberator would show up in a private jet and then switch to his personal limo, but that's our guy. And if you'd told me any time before June 2015 that I'd support a guy who's been working the system for most of his career, funding the very leeches who are kneecapping the American people, I'd have called you crazy.

Yet here I am, all in for the Donald. Not because of his very public confession at the outset of his campaign that he himself is a no-good, corrupt, establishment type – that was not exactly an endearing admission. Nor was it his sincere, heartfelt contrition, because I'm pretty sure that never happened.

So why? Why, oh why are we letting this political neophyte with no government experience and a shady background hijack the American political process? The answer: he's one of us, a working stiff living in the real world of everyday.

Okay, technically, Trump's not a working stiff. He's hardly in a dead-end job living paycheck to paycheck. But despite his billions, Trump shows up to work every day and puts in eight to twelve hours. He personally oversees his projects, walks job sites, and sacrifices personal and family time to meet deadlines and make payrolls.

This is where the Washington elite will never get it, because they have no point of reference for actual work. Their careers are rooted in words, volumes of empty rhetoric. There's no passion in their lives, no driving ambition, no actual product to inspire personal pride.

Enter Donald Trump, a man who loves work, values the dollar, and strives for perfection. A guy who not only owns up to his previous establishment status, but touts it as a plus, an insider who can blow the lid off the government con. He's like the mobster who goes state's evidence: he knows where the bodies are buried, and yeah, that's a good thing.

But beyond his insider connection, it's Trump's connection with the people that gives him staying power. If you want to see the magic firsthand, attend a rally. As Trump likes to say, these rallies are love-ins, thousands of cheering supporters at every event.

A rally kicks into gear when Trump strolls onto the stage and waves out at the sea of cheering supporters.

"Wow, just wow," Trump says as he approaches the microphone. He shakes his head in disbelief as he leans on the podium, settles in. He reaches in his jacket pocket and brings out his notes, though he doesn't use them. He's in his element, as comfortable with the massive crowds as if he just pulled up a chair to our kitchen table.

Trump gets right into his speech, "Soooo," he starts and he's off. He takes up his next point, whatever that may be, but never leaves our side. One minute he promises to bomb the hell out of ISIS, and then he stops and yells, "I love you, too!" to his audience.

Inevitably, he'll bring up the border, sparking chants of "Build the wall! Build the wall!"

"Oh, yeah," Trump says. "We're gonna build that wall." Then he leans toward the crowd, his hand cupped over his ear. "And who's going to pay for the wall?"

"Mexico!" the crowd shouts.

"One hundred percent," he says over the cheers.

Trump often boasts that he has the most loyal supporters in the country. True, but Trump's still up against formidable odds, as the media continues to run a fixed game to shield Hillary from the truth and relentlessly pummel Trump with lies.

Remarkably, Trump survives and thrives despite the Democrat/media merger. The inside-the-Beltway crowd is dumbfounded. In their world, there's no explanation for this voter insanity.

Here's a tip for those of you in the establishment who still don't get it. Trump's secret, his magic bullet, is hard work. If those of you in Washington or the media really want an inside look at Trump's world, then get a job – a real job, where you work ten to twelve hours a day, make a product you take pride in, construct a building, or provide stellar service to bring in new customers. A job where you labor under the same oppressive regulations you've imposed on working people across this country, where Obamacare and burdensome taxes gut your paycheck, where you work longer hours or give up that vacation because this anemic job market offers you no alternative. Join the day-to-day fight to keep your head above water, to feed a family, and give your kids a future.

Maybe then you'd appreciate the value of a dollar instead of redistributing billions and trillions as if it's Monopoly cash. You'd find out that if you don't deliver in the business world, you don't get paid; that if you lie to your customers, they'll take their business elsewhere; and if you tell your clients it's your way or the highway, you'll end up flat broke.

Nigel Farage, the Brit who led the Brexit revolt, recently drew outrage from the European parliament when he chastised his parliamentary colleagues with the following:

I know that virtually none of you have ever done a proper job in your lives, or worked in business, or worked in trade, or indeed ever created a job.

The chamber erupted in a boisterous backlash, but Farage didn't back down, because whether or not any of them ever did hold a "proper" job, it's long forgotten. Like our government, the U.K. executives are now firmly ensconced on Mahogany Row, salivating over their pending global merger, not a thought for the workers.

Nigel's 100% right about the disconnect between government and the people. That's why Trump is so refreshing – a man who actually does hold a proper job as CEO of a multi-billion-dollar company he built, a man who's created tens of thousands of jobs, signed paychecks, and personally supervised quality projects.

Unlike our political elite, Trump didn't get rich taking gifts, bribes, or payoffs from Wall Street or foreign governments. He's not a career politician with grandiose visions of how they'll someday fix the economy if elected. No, Trump's the guy who's been there, done that, has real-world experience in business and the know-how to succeed.

Yet Trump didn't make it to the top and turn his back on the people holding the ladder. He's an enigma who can sip champagne with the country club crowd yet be as comfortable with the servers and cooks, who says he's more at home with construction workers and cab drivers than society's elite. Beneath Trump's $6,000 Brioni suit is a regular guy, a man of the people, a working stiff.

So go to work for our country, Mr. Trump. Time to put that unparalleled business acumen, New York street smarts, and superior intellectual power to work and make America great again – greater than ever before.

Trump has been a huge disappointment on many levels for me, but disappointment is far superior to the terror I feel at the thought of a stooge of the out and out Marxists getting into the presidency, so Trump it is.

My initial reaction was the same as Cheesy's above. But I think it's the sort of prose that gets shared a fair bit and targeted at those that could perhaps share commonality with the author. They might be folks sitting on the fence or even looking for any sort of reason to not vote for him. It's a good way to invite people for a helping of rightful awakening vs. it being forced upon them. Effective either way.

Trump had my support early on because he was honest enough to articulate what most people, including myself, wouldn't say publicly.

Folks don’t have to MARRY the guy, they’re voting to get a job done. His policies and his tenacious desire to enact them, ought to be enough for someone who calls themself a “conservative”.

I'd not want to eat dinner with Trump. He's an ego-maniac, but that doesn't mean he's not the best choice for the job. I also don't want a pitbull for a house pet, but he'd be a good pick if I needed a junk yard dog to get a job done. Even so, the American in me has to root for Trump when he dishes out what the other side has coming to them, and says the things no other president has had the stones to say. So what if he's not always "classy" or a "gentleman". We tried that......

I voted against Hillary in 2016. I had many concerns about a reality show guy running the country. Turns out he has been the best president I can remember.

I love Trump and thank God for him. He's the Winston Churchill of right now. Sadly, America treats him like they did Churchill after they were done with him.

In the 3 years of watching him and how he's handled the job he has put every one of his republican opponents, during the primaries, in the dust. I’m voting for Trump again but not because I like him but for what he stands for. Actually I don’t like or “love” any politician period.
