Bail them out or let them foreclose?

Is this a crisis of their making or one caused by government overreach and overreaction?

Just think, if biden could nationalize the hotel industry, each building could dedicate X-number or rooms or a floor for permanent housing for the homeless.

🤪

LaQuinta already has floors 2 and 3 set aside for fuggin people with dogs.

Having to look at some Akita’s 6gauge ass hole while hittin up the breakfast.
If no one is traveling, then why hasn’t rates dropped?

May bring folks in rather than charging pre Covid prices.

Let em go under. BLM will buy them and turn them into medium density low income housing. What better way for the industry to show support.

I've only traveled once ( a few weeks ago) for business since this got started. I stayed at hotels that I've used many times in the past, and the rates were about 25% less than pre-Covid.

Jackpot, NV. It's a tiny town on the ID-NV border about 40 miles from me. It's sole reason for existence is several casinos and hotels serving Idaho gamblers. 85% of the adult working force is employed by the gambling and hotel industry. When the CV shutdown got bad, they had an 80% unemployment rate. We were through there a couple weeks ago and the hotel parking lots were largely empty.
Marijuana is legal in NV but not in ID. There is no pot dispensary in Jackpot and the the town is fighting to get one. Obviously, 95% of the weed sold would be bought by Idahoans. It would be legal until the buyers crossed the border on the north side of town. Idaho officials are trying to keep them from getting a dispensary for obvious reasons. Idaho's bordered by 6 states and 3 of them have legal pot. The border towns of Ontario, OR, Clarkston, WA, and Spokane, WA do a booming business with Idahoans and Jackpot want's its share.

Foreclose! Turn the buildings into something useful, like munitions factories.
